I can only think that with the changes they made to the new firmware do not agree with your particular install. Do you use Titanium Backup? You can use this to back up your system then flash the new firmware and wipe the user data portion. Install the basic hacks to get up and running again and then use Titanium back up to restore your programs and system settings. On your second flash were you able to get in to the PD launcher?
Lightly modded 8-20 firmware
This version of the 8-20 firmware has the userdata.img removed. That's it. No other hacks are included.If your hacked and install this you will have to reinstall the button hack and the GE hack if you want them.I have installed this on my Novel and everything seems to work fine so far.
