This version of the 8-20 firmware has the userdata.img removed. That's it. No other hacks are included.If your hacked and install this you will have to reinstall the button hack and the GE hack if you want them.I have installed this on my Novel and everything seems to work fine so far. This afternoon download new modded package. came up ok, but can't get into PD from Home switcher. getting error saying application failed try again or reboot.

BW my humble apologies, for posting in to many locations. I am very frustrated since this the first firmware that has caused me problems in anyway. What possible can it be? I did notice when I tried 8-20 mod again last night, I couldn't connect to my wi-fi, but when I reverted back to 8-6 connected up. Did you think I need to clear cache, if so how to do it. Again thank you for you patience's.

I can only think that with the changes they made to the new firmware do not agree with your particular install. Do you use Titanium Backup? You can use this to back up your system then flash the new firmware and wipe the user data portion. Install the basic hacks to get up and running again and then use Titanium back up to restore your programs and system settings. On your second flash were you able to get in to the PD launcher?

No I haven't used Titanium backup, also not familiar with it. I have tried about 4 times flashing 8-20 everytime fails on pd launcher. Since I have no problems with 8-6 mod, I am thinking of using quick uninstaller for any applications after 8-6 mod date then trying to flash 8-20

BW, Was thinking last night and this morning, if I flash pd OEM firmware latest version from their site. Is there a consolidated zip file that someone on the forum has created that includes the original hack the novel, volume buttons, pandahome, but without GE so I put on my sd card and flash or do I have revert back to the original hack the novel by nate the great. I have reviewed many post and its just overwhelming. Look forward to your response, thank you

I don't believe nchntrman's ROMs have GE installed. The original "Hack The Novel" will do what you describe, but I believe better methods have come along since thing. There's consolidated installers done by enjoys1 and oneglory (I think).

Clockworx thanks for the reply, could you point me in the right direction were these are located. My goal is to be able to download PD updates without removing my userdata, if I decide not to go forward with the forum firmware developments with 2.1 and beyond. As I stated in previously post, the 8-20 mod version was first time I ran into any problems. i.e. won't load PD launcher. 8-6 mod version fine. I hate the idea of starting all over.
