Ramos & Ainol will be coming out with their 8726MX tablets in May from info I have seen!!! Those are the two brands I have heard most about using Amlogic's MX chip.

RK3066 tablets maybe released as early as June or July? Release date unknown for these ones.

8726MX almost here and RK3066 & Nexus tablet in couple of months.
After how unusable my Ainol Aurora remains after months of continuous software development from Ainol themselves as well as freelance developers, I have grown skeptical of China tablets. In my view the Amazon Kindle Fire 2 and upcoming Google Nexus tablets are better bets, and competitive in terms of pricing as well.

Looks like the RK3066 is shaping up nicely, I just hope they can work out the stuttering in 1080P Videos, Games & Web scrolling/zooming. Here is a link to the review with some vids showing the stutter. *It should be noted that this is an engineering sample*

Anyone knows which CPU is better? The Rockchip RK3066, Cortex A9 dual core or the TI OMAP4430 Cortex-A9, Dual Core??
Rockchip RK3066. Even 8726MX is better too.

Here is GPU performance comparison between the 3:
T20 (OMAP4) vs Elf II (8726MX) vs N90 Dual (RK3066)

OMAP4 & Tegra2 are pretty close in GPU performance but 8726MX & RK3066 beat both of these.

In terms of gaming performance:
OMAP4 = Tegra2 GPU
8726MX = between Tegra2 & Tegra3 GPU
RK3066 = Tegra3 GPU

PS, GPU is what matters on dual core A9s and not CPU score.

Thanks for the info. Looks like its better to wait few months and get a slightly more powerful tablet. I don't think we will ever need to go more than dual core processor.
+1.
Dual core CPU @ 1.5GHz should be powerful enough for most users, 96%+, for today and for the next 3 years. Quad core GPU should be very strong for gaming too. Can use some of that GPU power for higher resolution displays but many users will be happy with 1024x600, 1024x768 and 1280x800.

Some people have said 5-6 hours battery life with RK3066 but will have to wait for reviews to confirm. 6 hours would be very good. Not going to get 8-10 hours of AllWinner A10 that is for sure.

I have been waiting for the Yuandano N90. But I am interested in others opinions of the other bands in general. If you were looking to buy a 9.7" to 10ish range, RK3066 Powered Tablet what Brand would you purchase? and reasons why please.

As u say, for today apps.
640k was enough for the applications of that era, 2 cores is more than enough for now, but no more than 2 o 3 years.
Thx for the battery data!

All of the RK3066 tablets showing up so far are only pre-order. Not in stock yet but supposed to be available around May 15.

Should wait for actual stock before saying they are out. Could be May 15 or May 30. Or even in June. They will only be here for sure once they start shipping out from sellers.

Dual Core Tablet Availability
8726MX - around May 7-15
RK3066 - around May 15-30
Those dates are just estimates and can be pushed back further by 2-8 weeks.

These tablets are almost out but not just yet.

Seem to be a number of RK3066 based tablets coming out soon...

Cube U30GT
Not sure if this seller is real or not but they list the U30GT for $270 shipped.
U30GT $270

Best to wait for these tablets to come out to more sellers and then can know what the real price is. I think Merimobiles $330 price maybe too high and inaccurate?

Also, some site was saying retail price for U30GT would be 1299CNY = $207. I recall @ the HK fair where Charbax asked for pricing on U30GT and was told $128/1000 order.
http://armdevices.net/2012/04/16/128-rk3066-dual-core-cortex-a9-tablet-by-alldocube-technology-and-science-co-ltd/

Markup tends to be 100%. So, $128 X 2 = $256. ie, price should be close to that before shipping.

look back at the superpad 2/3 Frank i sold maybe 500 tablets the support stopped and actual tablet went out the window while i still had stock,but never had a customer complaint,or them asking for firmware.
As long as they run for what they were bought for,the firmware on them is stable then tablet Technology won't effect retailer's if anything it helps to keep sales moving.
as long as it stops for 6 months or so,after each new chip upgrade etc

Thanks for the background info. Do you know whether the company Alldocube has anything to do with Cube themselves?
Cube's website www.51cube.com.cn doesn't seem to mention them. I suppose it could be a vendor who only sells cube tablets (hence the name). I thought the Merimobiles price seemed high but 256$ (approx 160 uk pounds) would be reasonable

I guess I will have to continue waiting patiently
