The Novel isn't being sold online again yet and in the stores it has gone back to full msrp.
jackbox is right, Kohl's isn't selling the Novel online again until the new black model comes out most likely.
Bastiches...I literally think we wagged the dog here...
But... You have another option! Bring the latest sales paper from Bed Bath & Beyond to your local Kohl's where they have the Novels hiding in Customer Service when they arrive back from the recall. Have them PM the $169 price from BB&B, and then present them with the latest 30% off coupon code written on a piece of paper. Remember, to do this you will need a Kohl's charge card. Kohl's has suspended the latest rebate on the Novel because they screwed up the UPC codes and missed the deadline, but a new correct one should be up soon. Keep your eyes peeled! So, the math:$169.00 -$50.70 (30% Code)---------$118.30-$15.00 (MIR)---------$103.30Or, you can just get it from BB&B for a little more. Here's the math:$169.00-$33.80 (20% Off Coupon that is easily found)---------$135.20-$20.00 (MIR)---------$115.20So the Kohl's deal is $12 cheaper, but if your local Kohl's doesn't have any in stock, then the deal at BB&B is as good as it gets.

I just sent my rebate in yesterday. Argh! They better process it or not lose it, it has the original UPC.

Yes. I cakled the 800 number on the rebate form as the store manager had just scratched out the incorrect UPC code and hand wrote the correct one, and had scratched out the expiration date and had written that "the raincheck had just arrived on 7/13". I didn't think that rebate had a snowball's chance in hell of flying, so I called. That's what the rebate processing center told me, so I had the store take another $15 off my total.
I sent mine for the rebate anyway. I might raise holy hell if they don't pay on it, as it's their fubar. That or speak to a supervisor over a supervisor over a supervisor. At some point, the $15 isn't worth the hassle though...

Got my money and it was easy.

I defy your easy. Where is the soul in "easy?" I will get my rebate, or temper my soul, in the fires of my endless RAGE!!!
Kohl's has them back for sale on the web site again. http://www.kohls.com/upgrade/websto...archTerm=pandigital+novel&bmUID=1280421679684$189.99Code GR8SHIP for free shipping on orders over $75Code SAV15AD for 15% off orders over $100 thru 8/6/2010I got mine at BB&B. But I still have a raincheck for two from Kohls from the early June sale with 30% off. Not sure if I may try to get another one for my son.
Just checked RetailMeNot and it looks like there is a new coupon code that will start working in August from the 6th to the 8th and it gets you 20% off Code SAVEMORE20Is the $15 rebate still in effect at kohls? I didn't see it listed anywhere.
Update: On the Kohl's website "on sale" for $179 again. Folks, don't forget that Kohl's will price match (PM) to Bed Bath & Beyond (BB&
, and vice versa. They should also accept each others coupons and coupon codes. Whether this means that you could socially engineer a "stacking" of coupons at your local store remains to be seen, but it wouldn't hurt to try it. In other words, bring your 20% off coupon in to Kohl's and have them PM both the lower price at BB&B and apply the 20% off coupon. If they enter things as just one big combined PM, then you turn around and hand them the Kohl's discount code/coupon and really make out like a bandit. All they can do is tell you no. The upside to using the BB&B coupon is that you don't have to use a Kohl's credit card in order to get the deal, so for those without a Kohl's card, doing it this way is really attractive.I may end up getting another PDN for my wife with my AMEX points, as I can convert them into Kohl's gift cards. Other credit card points programs will also most likely have Kohl's gift cards as a redemption option as well.

I guess the idea was that the coupon is supposed to save more than the PM for most products?Still, you're right that it never hurts to ask. My experience was BBB, not Kohls, so it may very well work out.

Personal experience with Kohl's doing a PM on a toaster oven, and then allowing me to use one of their own 30% off coupons, so that is not an issue with them. Again, if a CSR refuses to do the deal, hang up and call back until you get a CSR who will do the deal.
I posted on a different forum I am a member of about wanting a Slatedroid and got into a conversation with a friend who wanted the Pandigital Novel; I began posting about all the information we have here on Slatedroid about it and to make a long story short I talked myself into trying to get one from Kohl's!I went in with a print out from Walgreen's showing the price and asked if they could price match it. The girl behind the counter didn't even blink she dropped fifty dollars off the price and then removed an additional 15% off coupon to that! I walked out the door with my PDN for $136.41 USD including taxes. Now all I have to do is figure out how to back the thing up before I try to do any experimenting with it...LOL--wasn't I just saying the other day I was going to wait until the market shook things out a little more?--bornagainpenguin

Fom native state, don't bother backing it up. Just get the firmware. It's a capable device. I'm glad I got three. Four. However many. Gave a few away, kept one in hiding, and I beat this one to hell. Still need a screen cover.
