Hi all,Firstly, I'm not sure if this is correct place, but as far as I can tell this is right place in the forums for this.I just received my new iRobot device today, and have been playing with it, and it seems to be pretty much what i expected. The device I got from here: http://chinagrabber.com/800-x-480-7...andriod-os-wifi-3g-ebook-reader---m759-1.aspxOne thing I would like to do now is to update to the latest firmware/android, as the stock version lacks some features I like from later version (1.6 has that feature that tells you what apps are draining how much battery, etc).My questions therefore are:* Can I update my device with the firmware version/s listed here/in HiApad.com?* And if so will they keep some features that my current install has, such as: - The ability to switch the USB mode to have additional USB storage/USB 3G Internet? - NC Manager (quick access to enable and disable WiFi/ 3G) ? - ES Task Manager/Explorer?Also one problem I have noticed is that Google maps "My Location" feature doesn't seem to work, as it tells me to enable the "My Location" setting when I have it already enabled. I am not sure what the problem is with this as when I open Google.com it asks to acquire my location information and correctly receives and displays the information on the Google front page. Would this be fixed by updating the firmware or if this another issue?I appreciate any help. Cheers.

First of all wow! Thats expensive! Sorry about that!Anyway, it does look like the aPad, but to be sure, check under settings - About MID - Kernel version (it should say something like rockchip version 1.2.7) - Build number should be something like RK-1.3.2 blah, blah, blah) before you flash. If it isn't an aPad and you try to flash you might brick your device (or it might not even recognize the software). I updated mine and all of the features you mention remained. My location wont work because it is a cell phone function, not wifi

It does seem so. Would have been better if I found this place first. Ah well, no matter. With the location stuff though, it did work in the browser for a while, it said "Acquiring location information" (or whatever is says) and it actually did get the location correct, which is why I thought it took location info from the WiFi (mac address or something). Now it doesn't seem to work though, so I don't know what changed.I'll give the firmware a go thoughEDIT: It seems i'm having some problem updating the firmware. I get to the stage of loading the firmware using RKAndoidDM.exe and the Hybrid custom firmware from here: http://www.slatedroid.com/vbulletin...firmware-for-aPad-Test-3.5-(updated-June-8th) (in english lang mode by editing the setting.ini to point to english). It starts updating but gets about 12 seconds in and says updated failed please re-plug the device. It hasnt screwed up the device though, it stops updating before it even starts it seems. Should I not try and use this firmware version?EDIT: Ah sweet, got it sorted. Hooked it up to another machine (straight XP x86 machine rather than Win 7 x64 through VMWare). Its all running nice now. Is it possible to upgrade the OS to a later Android version as well or does the HW not support it?
