Since it was posted a while back on the "Other Devices" page, I decided to pickup the IXSOON-E6500 from Aliexpress, as listed here:http://www.aliexpress.com/product-g...d-2-1-and-wifi-free-shipping-wholesalers.htmlIn case anyone else is thinking of doing the same, just a heads up that contrary to the listing, this device does not come with Android 2.1, or any Android version for that matter at this time. It's running Windows CE 6.0 (Build 3122) with a proprietary UI apparently made by a company called Talentech. I contacted the listed sales rep and he informed that Android 2.1 was in "testing" but didn't provide any information about an availability. The same devices is viewable here (good demo video) listed as the Mag Digital MDT70CT MID (of course in the video, they don't say that the Mag Digitial version already has Android). Since this is basically the Dawa D7 (or the older version of it), perhaps there will be an Android release at some point. In the meantime, a few initial reactions:- Seems to be a much better build quality than the Eken M001. They use tempered glass so there's no concern about the screen peeling issue. The back piece is actually plastic, not brushed aluminum or anything of the sort. - There are 2 USB (one 2.0 OTG, and one as a host port for connecting external drives - haven't tried that yet, but the OTG port works fine), but neither charge the device. There's an HDMI port, that supposedly outputs 1080p - will test and report further. There's a micro SD card port, which at the very least handled a 16GB card without issue, then there's a headphone jack - appears to be 2.5mm, not 3.5mm. - There's a menu button, a power button, and a stylus holder. There are no volume rockers or other buttons on the front.- The UI (for what it's worth) is very smooth and the touch screen is very responsive, but the custom settings menu is really non-responsive as illustrated in the video (although it does work).- The manual (almost entirely in Chinese) says it's running a Telechips 8901 720Mhz ARM 11. This seems to be confirmed by the System Properties, which lists it as a "Telechips, ARM11-TCC89X" It has 128MB of ram and 4GB of flash memory. - Wifi works fine, and it seems to have GPS, but the nav application is in Chinese so I can't really tell. There does not appear to be 3G, and the cut out on the screen where there should be a camera has no camera.- A Flash application is installed but I haven't tested it yet. The built in music and movie players pick up content on the microSD card right away, though they're not user friendly. I was able to play at 500mb mp4 file (encoded at 800x400, 700kbps) very smoothly. I will try with some higher res / bit rate videos and report.

Woaa real owner of the very device I`m interested in ;)I`m sorry but for some reason the video link you mentioned is nowhere to found in you post.If it isn`t too much trouble I`d really appreciate if you can look more deeply in this device`s video capabilities. Like does it handle mp4/mkv with H.264, AAC/MP3/OGG sound, subtitles (external and embedded), max bitrate for 800x480, 720p capability and all. Some info on flash and third party applications installation is also interesting. Thanks.

Whoa, sorry, link got dropped somehow. Here it is: http://besttabletreview.com/mag-digital-tablet-mdt70ct-mid-os-identity-crisis/Haven't had a chance to test out the HDMI out yet, since it apparently uses an HDMI mini port and I didn't have the right cable. Also, 2.5mm headphones don't work in the port - I'm not sure if that's specific to this unit or not. I'm planning to run some video tests this week, I'll encode some content in handbrake at shadow's specifications and report (and post a video of the playback for comparison). Very preliminarily, I fed it a few 1080p trailers and 720p trailers - the 1080p were choppy with the default video player, but the 720p clips were surprisingly smooth. Definitely plays mp4 with AAC sound encoding as well.Third party apps is an area where I've been having issues. Since it's running CE 6.0, and not Windows Mobile, I'm getting error messages when attempting to install any sort of .cab file. Any recommendations? Still no word from the vendor on Android, and I haven't located a potentially compatible ROM anywhere though I've been looking.

I'm familiar with using Windows Mobile, and never used Windows CE so I have no idea what I'm asking so please bear with me ???Does your .cab designed for touch screen edition? For example, TCPMP has pocketPC version, smartphone version, and other version http://picard.exceed.hu/tcpmp/test/If you install the .cab with "smartphone" version, that's not touch ready so it would return an error. When I get it, I don't want to lose all my legacy softwares so I'm really wonder those .cab from Windows Mobile are compatible.
