yup, that's the same I have. "Promising" is kind of subjective. All these chinese slates are kind of cheaply made and slow. Having said that, I can honestly say I really like my M003, after installing the 1.7.4 upgrade and doing some slight modifications to enable VPN and bluetooth controls. Your Mileage May Vary.

Yes, this is the M003. Not the Eken brand on the back, the type on the back says M003. I have one.It will take 3 to 4 weeks to arrive, and the dutch customs left it alone. For 110 euro delivered at home it is quite cheap!DealExtreme even published my review, though it was not 100% positive. One thing I forgot that (as many of the slates) it does not have a hardware Menu button, which is bad. Aldiko for example is a good ebook reader (slow on the M003 but usuble) and relies on the hardware Menu button to get into the settings for color, font etc. The 1.7.4 official Eken upgrade improves on many of the weaknesses, it is and will be a slow device. It is quite clear that Android slates with better specs will appear this year. The M003 is fine to get acquanted with the concept and is fun and usable. If you want a real multimedia device, fit for video and flash, wait for the new wave arriving. Android 2.2 will be preferred, with a much faster cpu, wifi 802.11n and a real multitouch screen.Hans
