Internet thetering with phone

Hi,anyone have tried to use the internet thetering with a smartphone?I have tried with my 2 phone, samsung sghi600 windows mobile 6.1 and htc g1 dream Android 2.2 (cynogean), whithout any result with the usb cable and the theter enabled on the phone, when i use an usb dongle on M003, i obtain only the pairing with the phone but no one service when i try to connect.
