You go back to where you augenus.com and go to the support section, and in the Gentouch78 downloads you can download the file explorer. The go into your android/tools directory on your pc.. put the download into that directory. and do this-adb install filename.apkCPG
Ok, this is helpful, but I need more help. I've been trying for a week to figure out how to install apk's. Apparently my tablet is missing the file explorer also. When you say android/tools directory on your pc, I assume you mean tablet, right? So how do I connect it to my pc so I can see the files on the tablet? When I connect it I see 3 drives, G, H & I. H is the only one I can look at, all it has is a directory called DCIM with a subdirectory of 100ANDRO with no files in either. So how do I see this android/tools directory?

If ES file explorer is an app in the apps tab I do not have it. If it is somewhere else please guide me as I can not find it.

Lol, Gee, thanks for the encouragement. I suppose that's why I've been having such a hard time figuring this out.
Use the browser on your 78 and go here:Download ASTRO File Manager for AndroidClick the download link on that page. It will download to the /nand/download folder, but more importantly, it should begin installing and will ask you for permissions. Once done, you will have a file manager on your device. Best way to get apps on device without downloading them from the market is to find sites that allow direct downloads like the one above. Just use google and you should find some more. Also, you can email the apk to your gmail account and download and install from there. Lastly, if you have an Anfroid phone, use it to get whatever app you need from the market and then move it to your pc/ Enjoy!

This is an alternate method of installing files that works for me, if you still have AndExplorer. If you have a microSD card, the card and its contents should show up in AndExplorer. You can use a different computer to download the ES File Explorer.apk from Augenus and put it on the card.AUGEN ELECTRONICS CORP - Kayako SupportSuite Help Desk SoftwareAfter the card is inserted in the Augen, finding and installing files is just a matter of tapping on the appropriate item on the screen.
JOHN: I think youre in the same spot I was. EVERYONE seems to make the mistake that we all have Androids running amok in our homes, when for may this is our 1st experience. Luckily for me I have some extra time for reading and want to start writing apps for android, so I dont get frustrated easily. The one line thats missing from most folks instructions is this: On a PC With Windows XP installed, navigate to Android SDK | Android Developers and install the SDKThen once that is finished use the command line interface (DOS Prompt) to navigate to the tool subdirectory of the SDK directories. This LOOKS like quite a task, but its really not, and there are more benefits to having it installed than I can explain here. But that will all take 10 minutes, then youre ready to rock!~and as Ive told many folks, book mark [Official] Augen Gentouch78 Rooting and Development [Working Android Market!] - xda-developers that and spend LOTS of time reading!
i had the same problem. i found a different website than augen that had file explorer. i downloaded right from the web on the gentouch and told it to install. the problem was that i could not see the sd card to install it from on the tablet. for some reason the files would not download directly to the tablet from augen but they did from the other site. i will post the other sites link if i can find it again.
here is the link that i downloaded file explorer fromES File Explorer | SlideMEi hope that helps much easier than all of the sdk stuff that gets too complicated for me.
