I got a Onda v712 version 2 about a week ago.It came with the 1.5.5 rom so I update it to the stock JB 4.1.1 rom from the Onda.cn website.

It's used as and E-readerwith wifi turned off, screen in black background with white text, TTS turned on and attached external pc speakers which have their own powersource.

I got 2Hours 17 minutes out of the battery. When checking the usage it told me 17% screen and 83% mobile standby, however the tab is set in Aeroplane mode.

Do you think this usage is normal with these settings?

How I can have 83% mobile standby usage while in Aeroplane mode?

Suggestions and/or comments welcome .
I use ONDA v712 v2, JB 4.1.1 rom from the Onda.cn.
I have the same problem: 2 to 2.5 hours of battery is empty.
Has anyone found a solution?

You can try these scripts, maybe they work maybe they don't.
Didn't help for me, but others say it helped.

Second option is opening the case and reattaching the battery cables..

Third option an new battery.( also opening case..)

hey Ebsbow
maybe we are in the same situation?
My battery vi40 dc battery, gets to around 40% and then lasts for about 20 minutes.
i tried using the two battery script fixes and they it didn't change.
I have tried numerous combinations of implementing the two scripts to no avail.
Very tiring.
As you've said it hasn't worked for you either, it makes me think of one more option.
Maybe the people it has worked for were using Jelly bean?
All of my efforts have tried various ICS versions.
Have you tried the battery fix scripts with Jellybean?

(Not that i'm complaining about the problem - the custom roms on slate are a pleasure.
That has to be said.)
best regards
mike

I don't have an answer for you, Mike212. We have two Vi40dc
running ICS both have the same problem. But 20 minutes is really low.

Only thing I can think of for the moment is to wipe everything (Dalvik, data etc.)
through recovery, and flash it again. Then use the script and let it rest for the night.
May run it again through the morning.

Sadly the Vi40DC forum members are not actively involved into fixing things.
Hopefully that will change quickly. You could try to contact Valkoz, he is The Man from Onda.

edit: You could if all else fails, try the CM mod on the board.
