Thought i would drop you a quick line to say I found a nice and easy way to root the Galaxy Tab. Download Z4Root from the market and run it. At the end of the root it restarts the device and viola you now have a rooted device and superuser installed.Very easy!!

I don't know what happened then but z4root will not work on my Galaxy Tab - the first device it hasn't worked. Here in Thailand I can make calls and use 2G for data (no 3G where I live) - in fact most of Thailand still hasn't got 3G yet.

Different builds for different areas, eg, most of the US can't use their GT's for phone calls. It is clear that in some areas z4root will work but in other areas it will not. Not all GT ROMS are the same and that is why it needs careful checking before you install other ROMs in these devices.

Whatever you find out, I need to root an s3, I am blind to scripting (euphemistically).Tried this:
Hanaspad boot-loop recovery.
