Hello, My new apad is awaiting me when I return home. Before I go "playing" with custom/hybrid firmwares, I would like to back up the original firmware/apps (So I can restore them later for speed comparison etc) that the apad shipped with. Is their a tool to dump the firmware ? can it be done over ADB?Thanks.

Good question. Given that each partition is esentially an IMG, this should be easy to extract. Also, grab a copy of the recovery IMG.

Yes, it can be done with adb. The commands have been mentioned in these forums a few times so try to search for it.Have fun with the new toy!

ADB = Android Debug BridgeIt's a command line tool that is part of the Android SDK (Software Development Kit) which is freely available for all (most?) platforms.More info in this thread and of course on the world wide interweb...
