0.3MP front-facing camera
802.11b/g/n WiFi

This Time article has some early purchasers weigh in:
techland.time.com/2013/05/24/hisense-sero-tablet-breaks-the-100-barrier-but-beware-the-battery

I see the battery in the Lite version is a shocking 4 hrs. Other complaints I see here in the comments are from some shopper who experienced a poor HDMI connection and OS crashes. Won't take long until 'there's a ROM for that' (aside from the battery capacity, of course).

Please let me know when these are available in Walmarts north of the border.

I had recently bought a no-name 7" with an ATM7029 chip and was rather disappointed in it, mostly the screen (not IPS). Learning from mistakes, I was ready to give a 2nd try with an RK3066 & IPS screen, but ran across this Sero 7 Pro at Walmart. I was amazed I had never heard of it as I had been obsessing over tablets the last week. So I took a chance and bought one. I owned a Nexus 7 previously and I often forget the Sero 7 Pro in my hand "isn't" the same Nexus 7 as it's so similar.
For $149, it's only 8GB of storage, but it has a microSD slot (N7 doesn't). After rooting, I've successfully moved a few large games to the microSD using an app "GL to SD."
It also has HDMI out and a rear camera, pretty much the very things I wished the Nexus 7 had. After seeing what's typically sold for $100-130, I'm amazed $20 more gets an amazing 1280x800 IPS screen, BT, GPS, NFC, etc.
I think one of the biggest frustrations with the ATM7029 tablet was the lack of apps available or supported in the Play Store, even after multiple tweaks (root, build.prop, etc). Nice to see this Tegra 3 has everything available from the start.

Xboxexpert has provided rootand first custom ROMs and the Hisense Sero 7 is a serious contender for any 7" Android tablet. I did lots of benchmark and a few reviews on my blog, everything I've throw at it works great.

tabletuser.blogspot.com LINK

The Sero 7 Lite sports the same cpu as the very popular MK808B Android TV Stick and I have several benchmarks and reviews on it for performance comparison on my blog.

I just purchased the S7 Pro and it is a great buy for $150. Look forward to seeing some custom firmwares.

This is my first device with NFC, anyone got some neat things I can do with NFC?

Way off topic, I know...but I was checking out the Sero 7 Pro again at my local walmart and found that they had slashed the price on the Nook Tablets. They now have the Nook HD+ 16GB for $149, exact same price as the Sero 7 Pro. Now I can't decide!

obviously different animals, but certainly a good price for a 9" tablet with terrific screen.

Nook HD 8GB - 129
Nook HD+ 16GB - 149
Nook HD+ 32GB - 179

here's a discussion at slickdeals:

Is there any better deal than the Sero 7 Pro/Sero 8 Light out there right now?
(without ordering through a site like ###########)
For example Hyundai T7, Pipo S1 Pro or Window N70HD?

I like the specs of the Sero 7 Pro, but really didn't want to spend over $99.

Thanks,
Carlos

I've thought of buying the Sero LT for my fiancée. She is always sitting in bed with her laptop upon her lap or stomach. Meanwhile I'm right next to her and I'm surfing the web using my Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. To me it seems like a good idea. Just lacking $99 at the moment.

I'm a former Ainol Novo 7 Fire owner and I purchased the Hisense Zero 7 Pro yesterday. Hands down, this tab beats the tar out of the Ainol Fire and I highly recommend it.

I have the Sero 7 Pro and it's great. It's really fast and despite what others have said, the camera on it isn't too bad. The tablet itself doesn't feel too cheap either which is nice considering it was only $150. One of the much better budget tablets out there.

I too am a former Ainol owner, Hero10. I got a friend to purchased the hisense7 pro and was amazed with the quality and specs. You are right, this tablet blows away the Ainol in every feature I can think of. Planning of getting another one now the price was reduced even further. This is the best price/performance tablet on the market period.

bought this tablet for my son. This thing flies!!! Awesome tab and microsd makes it even better. Gonna buy myself one as soon as I can. XDA has a good topic on this tablet with rooting and custom roms. Be nice to get someone on slatedroid to develop for this. Been here for a few years would hate to jump ship.

Is there anybody out there?
Yes :)
I bought the Pro about 2 weeks ago at Wal-mart and it is a very good tablet. I have purchased my share of no-name brand tablets and been burned a couple of times. In this case, I have zero complaints so far. I'd guess around 8 hours of battery life, nice screen, very fast processor and a built-in GPS. No problems with wifi that I have seen. Play store appears to work fine also. If you get one, I'd suggest getting the $15 insurance plan also. Even if you drop your tablet or spill something on it, you will get either a Wal-mart gift card or a replacement tablet. Well worth the money. The plan is for 2 years from the date of purchase.

There is a good video on YouTube about the Sero 7 Pro that covers all of its features in the review. It has been a great purchase.

I bought one too to replace my ainol Venus. I rooted it, have touch CWM, and running the serolicious custom rom. It's a great tablet. I'm using the Nexus media importer which allows me to us my thumb drives via otg cable. A great app. Very useful on the Sero.

I just got a refurb Pro for eighty bucks from Newegg and I'm very impressed. I was planning on installing a custom rom but so far haven't found it necessary.
Wish I had bought a couple more but they are sold out now. Anyway, its been awhile since anyone has posted here. Anyone have any feedback on recent ROM work? I believe KitKat is out there, but not completely done...
