The appeal for Cortex based products running on Froyo is there because Google I/O has recently demonstrated that such products will have full Adobe Flash. Rockchip fits a very different market, at a much lower price point, yet still achieves a lot of functionality.

Hello! Thanks for making the Apad. I got mine yesterday and I love it. There is one beef, though - which I wish you would hotfix:You guys modified the Android OS on the Apad in a way that it shows all applications in landscape, even though the OS is in Portrait Mode. Now when an application from the market (a game for instance) switches to landscape mode, the Apad switches to Portrait, thus making the application not work as intended.Could you guys please release a hotfix for this? Youtube.apk, beebplayer.apk and most games are affected by this.

Hi chip3c,One of the most important point was not mentioned or asked here. Can you please provide us a recovery image for the apad??? We are in desperate need of such a file. Most of us dont have the skills or equipment to do a full nand backup with a reader.Thank you,Jlove

BTW not to sound ungrateful 2.1 on the Apad will be great but do you have any plans for 2.2(froyo)? That JIT compiler would be an amazing boost the device's speed.

It's good news for me and apad user.As you mentioned, Android 2.1 is not better than android 1.6. but Android 2.2 could be good choice because of apad's hardware limitation.Can we get android 2.2 firmware from rockchip or you?If it is possible, it will be great for apad user!!!One more question, my apad has some bugs.1. panel or backlight control error on firstboot : brightness is different on half and half. After display on/off, it's ok.2. mic didn't work : If I use recoding software, it can record tick noise only.3. g-sensor is malfunction : g-sensor is malfunction on level program or game, apad seems to use AK8976ACould above problems be fixed with new firmware?

Apad come with usb cable for connection to PC, But when I connect apad to Window PC. It seemed that PC could not recognize Apad. How Can I mand it work? Thanks in advance.Momokun12

The battery capacity is projected to increase with a target of 5 hours for the production batches coming in October.

I chatted with chip3c again last night. The manufacturer is still focusing on the Chinese market for their devices. While they would like to support international buyers as well, they simply do not have the capacity to do that at the moment. However they are trying very hard to improve their product and streamlining various things. In particular, there are a lot of software optimizations to be made. They are working to resolve all the issues now.

) with white version... IS IT THE ORPHAN M003 ?Do you think an Android 2.2 upgrade firmware will soon be available for this version too?Thank you so much!

There is no rom development in the moment. Only Chip3c can tell you that. But they are busy with the chinese market at the moment.
