PLEASE HELP!!! i got my aPad last week after waiting for 2 weeks from the eBay vendor in China. It's a replacement of the first one which I had to send back (cost me $19 USPS shipping) because the screen is very dim (even at the maximum brightness setting). And know what? The replacement unit has exactly the same issue with very dim screen, it is hardly readable at all under any lighting condition. I have been chatting online with the vendor and she insists it's bright and normal when they shipped it, but I don't know what's "normal brightness" to them. I had an Archos 7 Home Tablet, and I know how a normal screen brightness looks like. Please, anyone out there who can figure out what's up with this aPad that I got? I'd love to really use it because it is Rock-Fish or something processor, and the touch screen is responsive sooo unlike the Archos 7 (the reason I am ditching Archos) but the screen is just sooo dim.I am new to the forum btw...PLEASE HELP!!!

Do you know which model you have. It is hard to tell without looking at pictures of the side of your device. I have the Eken m70003 and screen brightness is its main drawback although everyone else in my family (with better eyes) find the screen adequate except outdoors. Freelunches idea did not work with my model but does work with some apads (where the manufacturer sets max brightness low in order to prolong battery life). Good luck. OT, if other people find your screen brightness adequate you may want to consider doing what I did, going to the opthalmologist / eye doctor.

the screen brightness on these pads is not the best , plus coupled with the fact that the sceen itself is not great as well , you get what you pay for , but I would try the brightness widget , try a few till you get the best one , it helped with my brightness, but I have my brightness set to 50% otherwise it wouldnt last more than an hour
