Took my iRobot to my parents the other day to test their wifi connection. Overall I'm pretty pleased with it. waiting to flash it with a custom rom, neither method works for me at the minute although I'm sure thats in no small part due to my laptop being severely broken, aaaanyway I digress...My dad was really really taken with it as was my mum, for different reasons, my dad is a gadget whore like me and my mum wants an e-book reader.So, my question is, is the Eken M001 better or worse than my aPad/iRobot/Moonse? the LED light looks like it shines through the plastic making it look cheap and flimsy, is this the case? I want to get them both one as a gift but dont want to go much over ?100 so a UK distrubutor is required.What should I get them and from where? MUST be android, cos god, i hate Windows CE.Cheers.

Well I have the 1st version of the eken m001 and it is still ticking but in later versions I heard they fix the crappy screen issue and the wifi is supposed to be better . all in all not a bad device for the price

I say make a pool with your Mom and get him the witstech pad.I think there are a few month of fun in that device (cortex a8, Android 2.2, exchangable batteries, and ongoing development by the manufacturer).It does not look that 'iPhoney'

Thanks dude, does the LED shine through the plastic? I know it seems weird to bother about that but it makes it look cheap, then again I guess that its cos it IS cheap haha

as said, it is a bit more expensive:Witstech A81E Android 2.2,Flash 10.1Market+Free Case+Bluetooth Removable batteryThe only downside i see in this device is that it has no g-sensors so there is no auto rotating and no g-sensor games.//EDIT: that baby even has bluetooth and an optional internal GPS modul... if only it had the g-sensor...

yeah I was eyeing that up for myself on someone from this forums recommendation as an upgrade to my recently bought rockchip aPad. I really want animated backgrounds and added app compatibility. My Sister can have my Rockchip aPad.For what my parents want though I think it'd be a little expensive as a gift that will be used to do spreadsheets by my dad for work and read books by my mum. Maybe for the the standard Rockchip aPad is enough and easier on my pockets.So anyone know the best place to get either 2 black Eken M001s or 2 standard rockchip aPads for ?200 or preferably under? haha doubt it.
