So, there are no screws? The whole thing just snaps together? Can you get at the screen to remove it from the housing (I am looking to remove some dust). More pics of the top half possible - the screen/touch screen pic looks like the touch screen is turned over on the lid?

there are screws under closer examination, the size of eyeglass screws. I will have to remake the snaps so that it locks together . I will take more pics and post them of the lid

Thanks! You might want to take the opportunity to move the WIFI antena away from the battery, maybe into the open space around the speaker, then use a non metalic tape to hold it in place. Would probably improve signal strength!

OK I tried to open my aPad. I used a guitar pick, and I found the easiest place to get it between the edges is next to the rocker (menu/home) switch, as the plastic flexes most there. I then used the pick and slid it round to the non-button end where it "popped" half open. What was happening was I was breaking the tiny screws out of their sockets. The black lining and plastic film are glued to the glass screen, and these screws are under the black edges. This isn't great news. What ever you do don't try and pull the film off the glass past the black edge, I now have a permanent "stretched glue crystal" corner in the top left on my screen. :(If you are going to do this, all you want is to carefully peel back the black plastic to expose the screws, and then I'll update you if I get any further.

Ok, I have found that heat does make the peeling process much easier. If you want to expose the screws you can use a hair dryer, and carefully pull the edges back. Now - does anyone know what I can do about the edge of my screen? All the stretched glue is left in the corner. What if I pulled the whole thing off, then used a solvent to remove the glue? Then I could stick it back on after I've done any modding required?
