Because Android 2.0 only existed for a very short period (I think less than a month) before Google obsoleted it with 2.1. Very few devices were released that were 2.0 as they released with 2.1 instead. The people who made the GE alpha were not able to find the files from a 2.0 device, hence they had to use the 2.1 files and trick the PDN into thinking it a higher sdk level in order for it to accept the 2.1 files.happyzax said:I guess this may be a dumb question but why are we trying to use files from 2.1 to add the Google apps? Why can't we use the actual 2.0 versions of the apps and avoid all the incompatibility problems?
