I'm not going to be too intrusive here...We just got back from a visit to Velocity Micro?s Richmond, Virginia headquarters where we were given full access to their new eBook reader the Cruz Reader. We?ve reported on this upcoming device before ? but this time we had a lengthy hands-on experience with what promises to be the most capable full color Android eBook reader on the market. We?ve got the specs, we?ve got the photos and even a quick video!I hope you'll visit our site and read up on this cool new Android tablet!http://www.gadgetnutz.com/2010/08/26/a-gadgetnutz-exclusive-first-look-at-new-android-tablets/

It -IS- a pandigital novel. Literally. Look at the placement of the top switches, the placement of the internal memory... even the BATTERY manufacture...Same OS, same resolution...They moved the power plug to the bottom because it's not intended to double as a picture frame anymore.[edit]Designed in house my left nut.[edit]GET ME FW FOR THAT THING!!! NOW!

That's my exact impression after seeing the video. Do we have any hardware specs to confirm this? That would be cool if it had the same hardware and we could use their firmware on the Novel. Not bad, since many are getting their Novels for almost half the price!

[quote name='happyzax;46592]Not bad' date=' since many are getting their Novels for almost half the price![/QUOTE'] Many for less than half the price...Imagine if Pandigital pulls the white in favor of the black... How fricking STOOOPID would that be with this thing coming out?

We're trying that ourselves. Let's just say there are frequent occasions where I can throw a coke bottle out my car window and bean their building.

Gonna guess Samsung s3c6410/mali-200gonna predict TCC8902 for their tablet... overpriced unless the streetprice is close to $200... probably x5a/x6 wondering if screen is REALLY capacitive now...[EDIT]Reader: PDN, yeah can see that, they're going to have to do MUCH better on pricing then even IF they coughed up to ARM for the DDK such that they could enable GPU accel... just not worth what amounts to a $50-80 premium.Oh my, Velocity Micro is ever so honest about designing it... now all we have to do is find out who the ODM REALLY is...[/EDIT]

Why haven't they listed the processor though? Just bugs me they haven't told us, and now it looks like it's a device that's been out for almost 3 months already, sold at half the price. This would be a scary rebadge job, waaay worse than the GT78 rebadge job. If the processor is still arm11, and still 800mhz, I'm guessing they're the same samsung. Even if not, it's still arm11 800 mhz. I also think if they could have done froyo with flash on it, they would have.

I thought the black PDN doesnt have the swappable internal Mini-SD card.. Also, does the black PDN have 3D acceleration? Also, there is nothing to say that Velocity didnt design this, and sell their design earlier to PD. Especially since these tablets were promised to be originally in july... Cause that for sure looks almost identical to how the white PDN I owned looked with the back taken off.CPG

Death to the black. The black pdn is dead to us... it has nothing. The pandigital website is now promoting both black and white. VM may have an excuse, but they haven't given it yet. They said they designed the thing. I'm still waiting for them to explain that. And I want their firmware.
