Thought it only polite to introduce myself, as is normal protocol, and just say hi.Not yet an Eken owner but plan on purchasing the M001 within the next week, or so. Looking at the reviews and videos on YouTube, and the latest firmware, it appears that these things only get better.I'm sure I'll have questions along the way but will post those in the correct places, rather than here.Ben

Welcome to slatedroid. What is it that makes the M001 the best choice for you? I'm not insulting the M001 at all it's good unit for a lot of uses and at a low price as well. Just want to make sure that you don't want to use it mainly for watching movies and youTube in HD.

No problems in asking - Initially I was looking at ereaders, primarily the Kindle (the new 3G/Wifi version) as I have a shed load of technical PDF/Ebooks I want to read on my commute to work everyday. The thought of printing out 100's of pages doesn't sound too good, and makes for heavy work. The Kindle would do what I needed. However a work colleague said why not get a tablet. Looked about on the net and the M001 seems to do what I need, and more. It's a nice palm size (possibly smaller than the Kindle which is to me a bonus). It's colour screen as opposed to 12 shades of grey. Any other apps are therefore a bonus! Being able to check email, browse and play the odd game or two are all additional uses for cheaper than what I was going to pay. So that's how I arrived at the M001.
