FAQ & wiki here-NEWBIES INFRACTIONS WILL ISSUE IF YOU DON'T READ AROUND B/F ASKING

START WITH THE WIKI Introduction to the Pandigital Novel

Please don't make me start deleting, moving, and combining threads by asking whatever comes to mind. There's been a lot of recent development on this device, and a LOT of your questions will have been asked already here. Take 10 minutes and look around before posting a noob question. We love our noobs, but we love them more when they help unnoobing themselves...This has become an epidemic problem here, so now we're going to have to add teeth: look before you ask. If you really think you're the first person to ask about changing the internal micro sd card, or to have problems flashing the device, that means you didn't look, and I am going to issue you an infraction. I won't enjoy it, but it's for the good of the community.

I don't think the power switch or rest button are doing anything.. right?

One thing to try.. disconnect the battery and then plug it back in after a few minutes..

Be sure not to pull on the battery wires.. use a small screw driver to work the battery plug loose..

There are some pictures somewhere if you need them, but I'll be damned if I can find them right now.

That would be the next thing to try would be disconnecting the battery for a while. Then try a reboot, reset, 3 handed reset, reflash the FW in that order until one of them gets you going again.

@mrsburnout

I tried re-flashing but still cant get it to even boot so I can't get it to flash...tried both external and internal methods with no results.

@panengineer

That was one idea I had forgot to try but still didnt have any effect...

If Ive ended up bricking this this thing it would have been nice if Id actually done something so Id know not to do it again.
Also you might try a three handed reset, easier to do if you have an assistant. Try pressing volume up, holding the power slide on, and using a straightened paper clip in the reset slot all at once.
would it make a difference if Im running the FW with the remapped volume keys?

Exactly, no response at all from the power switch. Id thought to do that though im terrified of breaking it lol. Worth a shot though.
@manofebon

3 handed reset or removing the battery?

As for what you might have done, sometimes electronics just seem to have gremlins.

Try disconnecting the battery, sometimes it may take as much as a day, and then see if you can get it back to life with a reboot, reset, 3 handed reset, or FW flash.

If that doesn't work you might have to see if you can get adb working and push some files over to the PND from your PC.

Great!

Sometimes these things just need a hard reset that only powering down the electronics will do.

Yea, I gave David a +1 too!
