Hello All!I purchased a eken on amazon.com and received it a few days ago. Immeditiely im having a problem! t It is not reading the SD Card slot. I tried 6 different cards (16gb sdhc micro inside a sdcard adapter, 2 8gb in 2 different adapters, 4gb regular sdhc, 2gb reg. sdhc, 2gb sd not sdhc) and none of them work! When I insert them its says "Preparing SD Card", then it says "blank card", when i drag the bar down its says SD Card is blank or has an unsupported filesystem". I put a few pics on and still says samething.I first tried reformatting it in the eken, then on the computer with standard file format then with hp format tool. Nothing worked. The 2 laptops can see the cards fine, but not the ekenI tried taking them out, restarting and putting the back in, nothing. When i go to setting> SD Card & device storage, it says total space and available space is unavailable and unmount is grayed out. When I go to photos i can see the internal rom and the built-in 2gb but not the card slot. As a last restort, I tried the factory reset and that wipe the add on file that came load, including the file view, which i tried to use and would also not see the sd card slot.I looked for app managing software through the PC and not luck, none of them will read the devicem just the internal rom.And makes it worst the company I brought it from wont return it because the add-on apps are gone. Can some one please Help, I like the device but havent been able to enjoy it!Thanks !!!David

I have the same problem with one of our 3 Ekenators. It won't read the sd card at all. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR....
Are they plugged in via USB while you're doing this?

No. Not at all.
This is really upsetting!!! Want to update it and cant! Could it be something with the pins inside? I looks one is slight high then the others. Is the built in SD overriding it so the slot is not reading? Same here its not plugged in to usb. BUTTT, most of the time when I do have it plugged in, it will see card is in there and I format it through the USB, but it doesnt do anything. Shows 0space available.
Just thought I'd check, I think the M001 is a bit funny about how it handles the SD card when you plug it in via USB. At least mine is!
I have this same problem.i cant do any thing with the thing.has any one found a fix ?
might try a usb card reader?? I know that wont help much for full time memory unless you want a big thing sticking out the side but it might at least let you flash your device then you can have alittle more fun on it. I'm not sure it it will pick it up though...since the device comes with a sd card reader I don't know that anyone has tried a USB-to-SD card reader yet. But give it a go.
I did find the problem and it was realy simple in the end.the m001 has a nasty habit of pushing your card on to lock....check if the sd card has been locked when you put it in to the m001 it has happened to me jut about every time i have put the card in and out.on the card check that the little white buttion is up or down ...
That's pretty funny wmdgnome, something so simple could cause so many frustrations. Your solution gives us all one more thing to check when things are going wrong.
I had this problem too. I found that the metal shield that covers the card, also helps to hold it down to contact the pins. I pushed down on mine a little to bend it in a little without the card in place. Tested it, it works now. Put the Eken back together.Hope this helps some of you.Dave

wel today i got the same problem
got the eken now for a few days and already installed several roms
but know the sdcard reports non supported file system
i already got a look at the lock botton but thats OK

so only thing to do know is see if the card needs to be pressed down a bit more and open the case up ;-(

or any other idears?

That's probably not because of the SD card. The newer ekens seem to be very picky about the roms and some might not work right on yours. Als make shure you format your SD card correctly and use 7zip.
well after this i broke my eken by dropping it

i can still partially see parts of the screen but its cracked.

but after opening the case ( it already detached becasue of the drop ) and pressing the metal casing down so the sd card would be pressed down more the card is now readable!
So sorry for the loss!
In fact you could press the plastic case just above the memory card slot, not so hard - not so soft, in order to make the slot slightly smaller.
A second solution would be to try and cover a spare SD card with a pc cleaning wet cloth, not too wet, and move it in and out some times. Make sure to keep one of the edge of the cloth out so not to destroy the slot by keeping it inside the reader.
Then blow inside the cleaner so as any piece of dust to be removed.
I always do the second method for my own devices.
my eken moo1 too has the same problem it can't read sd cards, always showing blank sd card please someone help..????
