Ok so I just ordered my m001 should be here tomorrow or monday. I have a HTC droid and sadly, the screen is cracked. I was wondering if it is possible to use the camra off it since it is very high quality, 5.0 megapixel. Also since the droid is jut laying around can I use any other parts off of it to improve the M001, like maybe the battery or the memory maybe even use the charger from it on the M001 since it is usb compatible? Any help with this would be great. Thanks.

has anyone ever tried anything I said above? If nothing else I plan on finding a way to use the battery and the camera. As soon as I get mine I will start and let you know what works and what doesn't as I go. Any tips on how to hook up the camera would be nice though.

The problem you will likely run into is that the camera on your phone is porbably integrated into the pcb for the phone. I expect you will be hard pressed to remove it (lens and controller, etc.) in a way that will leave you capable of connecting it to your tablet via usb. I would love to be proven wrong though. After that you will need to either find a driver for that specific camera precompiled or determine how to compile a driver for it. Maybe the camera is supported in v4l, maybe not. You could try running lsmod, lsusb, and lspci on your phone via adb (if it's rooted) to find information on the camera controller.
