Hi, I am ordering a M001 soon along with multiple peripherals to mod into the system.I was just wondering for Storage purposes whether it's possible to solder SD card 1 to the motherboard where the jacket for the external access is and then still be able to use a SD card from the outside?A quick diagram has been attached. Thanks for help.

I think this will not work because of addressing and such...But you could add an USB-Stick (without the case) to the USB-port permanently. If you also include a hub, you still have a port for additional hardware...Think about a switch to trigger it on/off to save energy!

I wasn't entirely sure that this would work.I saw what Carnivore had done and would have preferred to use SD cards since they're cheaper on DX.But I'll investigate more and once I have my M001 I'll do some testing and what not.Thank you anyways.
See one of my videos. I tried an SD card reader and it didn't work. Your best bet is to do a flashdrive.
What I was thinking of doings was basically trying to use two SD cards on the one port. But I assume this isn't possible. Thanks anyways, Also good job on your M001.But yeah I've noticed that they're cheaper in store.

You could totally upgrade the internal storage capacity using GPIO-over-MMC as the WM8505 has plenty gpios unused. When mine arrives, I shall find some gpio pins within the processor board/mainboard. Like soldering 16gb internal sd cards would be possible (but hell crappy as the device itself doesnt play much stuff heh)

The unused gpios are exposed on some of the unused pins of the SODIMM slot - check out the pins closest to the lower-right corner of the SoC. (I'd hoped they would be JTAG, but they are "merely" GPIOs).Bit-banging SDIO will be painfully slow - it would be better to try to use a couple of GPIOs as card-select lines, or something similar.
