Does the device have to be rooted for this to work, because I have no idea on how to root my Galaxy Prevail and this would be perfect to get rid of all those stupid Stock Apps that eat away at my memory.

This works on our devices because busybox is already installed. Not all the functionality will work, but this does come in handy for various things. I know the Chinese are using a tool similar to this too. Link for downloads and stuff: http://de.codeplex.com/
