Say for example I put a textview in my app and I set the font size to 72pt the OS knows that 72pt font is 1 inch high to it calculates the number of pixels on the screen that will be 1 inch high. With the dpi reported at 25.4 it produces the wrong physical size it produces a font that is 25.4pixels high when it should have been in our case 133pixels high. Run robodefence from the marketplace you will see what I mean.
