At first I was unable to sustain any speed in connection to allow me to download any podcasts completely, but once I enabled the tweak for WiFi here and removed the JIT enabled DVM it was able to completely download episodes of my favorite shows for listening to later. Which actual thing it was that made things work again I'm still not 100% certain of...--bornagainpenguin

Well DoggCatcher began restarting itself and updating in a loop since I did the backup and restore. I uninstalled it and am now quite happy with an app called "Listen" made by Google labs. It seems to work quite well and integrate better than DoggCatcher did. Will post back if issues arise again...--bornagainpenguin
