Please discuss what fix/fixes have you done to make it work/better on Onda vi40 tabs.

Supported Model: Onda Vi40 V3

ClockWorkMode For Onda Vi40..
===========================================================
Download CWM.zip file. Unzip it >http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?iu97mvefb6vfvdl

Copy 3 files(install-recovery.sh, reboot-recovery.sh, recovery.img) to the root of /sdcard directory

1. Install Superuser.apk included in the zip file. Open SuperUser app, you need to update it's binary in Preferences. (note: Need Internet connection)
2. Install Terminal Emulator app on your Android device "Android.-.Better.Terminal.Pro.v3.05.apk" included in the zip file.
3. Open "Better Terminal Pro app" to run the scripts.
Terminal Emulator/console: Press "Enter" after each line below

$ su
#sh /sdcard/install-recovery.sh
#sh /sdcard/reboot-recovery.sh

Once you run the second script, system will boot into recovery. Use the three hard keys to move up/down/back. Press 'power' button to select. Then you could proceed in installing CM9 zip files

How to Install CM9 on Onda vi40
===========================================================
Download the CM9.zip files:

Extract the CM9.zip ->
Contents of CM9.zip:
-cm9_nightly_20120615.zip
-gapps-ics-20120429-signed
-kernel_test4onda.zip
-vi40_compatibility_TEST.zip

The CM9 Nightly Builds can be downloaded here - http://www.androidfilehost.com/main/Allwinner_A10_Developers/christiantroy/roms/

According to Christian with this latest build cm9_nightly_20120624.zip
you don't need to install anymore the - "kernel_test4onda.zip"
You just need to install latest - vi40_compatibility_1.1.0.zip

Can be downloaded via Update Me app or from this direct link-
http://www.androidfilehost.com/main/Allwinner_A10_Developers/christiantroy/misc/vi40_compatibility_1.1.0.zip

Copy those Zip files to the root of Internal /SDCARD of your Android tablet
-cm9_nightly_20120615.zip
-gapps-ics-20120429-signed
-kernel_test4onda.zip (Not needed if your using cm9 cm9_nightly_20120624.zip or latest)
-vi40_compatibility_TEST.zip (Use the vi40_compatibility_1.1.0.zip from above)

On ClockWorkMod Recovery:
1. Click on Wipe data/factory reset
2. Click on "install zip from SD card"
3. Click on "install zip from internal SD card
4. Install them one at a time in these order:
-cm9_nightly_20120615.zip
-gapps-ics-20120429-signed
-kernel_test4onda.zip (Not needed if your using cm9 cm9_nightly_20120624.zip or latest)
-vi40_compatibility_TEST.zip (Use the vi40_compatibility_1.1.0.zip from above)[/u]

5. back to the main menu of CWM and click on "reboot"

Enjoy CyanogenMod9!!!

How to Install AOKP on Onda vi40
===========================================================

Same Procedure as CM9:
1. Download the latest AOKP Build from here - http://www.androidfilehost.com/main/Allwinner_A10_Developers/christiantroy/aokp/
2. Download the latest GAPPS - http://www.mediafire.com/?5v9btn3xgrd24pc
3. Boot into CWM:
* Select "wipe data/factory reset"
* Select "install zip from sdcard" -> "choose zip from sdcard" (or "choose zip from internal sdcard" if your files are into internal memory) and flash, in this order, rom / gapps / compatibility zip
* Now go back, and select "Reboot system now"
* Enjoy AOKP

Yes, i tested this rom and i have very very fast browsing with video flash on pages!!!!

But without touch screen, camera ...

Oka, i think than Christian and LVL is on good way to port CM9 to Onda VI40, please donate !!!

The browser is CM9 is really fast

CM9 is working 99.9% on the VI40 right now.
The only thing that isn't working right now is the rotation lock key on the left of the hdmi port.
But since you can lock it via the ics bar, I don't think Christian is going to put more effort in it.
I am awaiting Christian's response on where to post the files, because things might get fragmented across the CM9 nightlies topic and the Onda section.

I have installed this version on my Onda Vi10pro.
It seems work fine, except the camera.
The old camera driver gc0307.ko of Onda Vi10pro can't work on build0615.
Do you have a new driver ?

Can't you read the name of this topic? It's CM9 for the Onda VI40, not the VI10.
Onda has 10 versions of allwinner tablets, I and Christian are not going to support every single one of them, sorry.

Sorry LVL, it's my mistake.
By the way, I have hacked the gc0307.ko & sun4i_csi0.ko by using sfk.exe.
Now the gc0307.ko can work on 0615build. The camera works fine on my Onda Vi10pro.

Would love to give this a go but, how do you get CWM on the onda in the first place? I tried rom manager, but it said the device was not currently supported. cheers

Helloo,
I have installed Cyanogenmod 9 and all working fine until now. Even a Wolfram Alpha apk that refuses to install in previous ROM working fine.
I have the hope that wifi teether was working, but didn´t work.
Maybe I can manage to install a Bluetooht dongle and access the 3G network from my phone. Anyone try this and have something to share ?

By the way the firmware works like a charm! By far the smoothest of them all with great options as well. Never tried cyanogen mod before, but now i know what all the fuzz is about!
