so for the last couple of days my PDN has been acting strange. Most of the time when I am done reading I just put it into sleep mode but twice in the last four days I have powered it completely down and upon reboot I find that My Library is empty. I plug it into my computer to find the books are gone. Any ideas whats causing it to do this?

Does it show a pop up saying that it IDs the SD card?

If you are using the native PDN reader.. I experienced the same thing a time or two.. books were actually missing from internal micro sd card.. I figured I must have accidentally erased them looking around in the directories.. but.. now I wonder if there is a more serious issue.I also had issues with the reader not remembering where you left off reading. I had to bookmark my ending place to be able to go back there.

I had this problem too the first couple of weeks I owned the Novel. I haven't beeen able to figure out what caused it. The closest thing I can come up with was that somehow, going into sleep mode messed up the books. I haven't had this problem recently.

whats weird is I hooked it up to my laptop and copied the books over again and the first time I fired it up it went back the exact spot I was reading in.....had my bookmarks stored and all....wouldnt that lead one to believe that the books were still there somewhere?

Where are the books from? BN, Aldiko, Kindle? Might be the server for the paid/drm books...

most came from gutenberg or google books.........

hmmmm. What have you done to the device lately that might have deleted things from the data folder? Flash anything? any major hacks?

nope....loaded the new firmware back on the 25th or so but other than that its been working fine since.

How did you get the books onto/into the device? USB, direct download, SDcard? Direct download may mean that it was left in your cache and deleted. I doubt it, but I'm floundering for answer to see if I can help here...

Although way back when I had the problem in the OP, I've been using it for quite awhile now with no problems. In fact, I used calibre to change format for a couple of kindle books that I was having trouble with via the kindle reader app and they work great in the PDN reader.
