So Slideme.org got back to me and said the deviceID issue is because there is no imei. Fair enough but how is are the eken's dealing with this then? Is eken setting an imei at the factory? Is it possible to put an imei in pace?

No I was just trying to see what the eken and apad folks that have the market working got a valid imei

From what I've seen, Eken enabled the market, which the devs then incorporated into their own firmwares. Not knocking the fantastic work of the ROM builders, just saying that they may not have done the work to enable it themselves. Not sure about aPad.

Burried in one of the sqlite databases I found the value for imsi but have not had any luck finding imei. In looking on the nets seems that modifying an imei on a phone is illegal in some countries. Not sure if it falls on this since it is not a phone but a tablet. Also seems that china is notorious for putting false imei's in phones so they can be used on any network. Article said like millions of phones were turned off over night a few months back due to a crack down in india.
