Cover/Case For Eken

I have bought a case designed for the Kindle 2 reader which fits just nicely. Its a neoprene slipcase and cost about 3 GBP. The Kindle 2 is a few millimetres different dimension-wise, so other cases for the same device might just fit also.

I'm surprised there haven't been any specific cases yet. Even the rumoured iPhone 4g is getting cases!!So what exactly is everyone using as a case? I've failed to find a decent case and I'm not keen on ordering the one from merimobiles since I'd prefer to have one sooner.

Making this available to all, since... well I have the info...----------------------Size comparisons for popular e-readers:Eken m001: H: 8.15" (201mm) W: 4.69" (119mm) D: 0.5" (13mm)Kindle 2 (this apparently is NOT the DX!) : H: 8" W: 5.3" D: 0.76" <---As stated in first post, this is the closest match.Kindle DX: H: 10.4" W: 7.2" D: 0.38"Nook: H: 7.7" W: 5.3" D: 0.5"Kobo: H: 7.2" W: 4.7" D: 0.4"------------------So the Kindle 2 (not the same as DX) has the closest specs, only issue would be that the eken is a bit taller. For flip-style cases which use diagonally placed elastics or other means to secure the device, I'd have to see a case/cover and try the eken in it to make sure the elastics can actually secure the thing. .15" doesn't sound like much, but it could be a major issue. Anyone know someone with a Kindle 2 case with such a setup like this? Example:

on a remotly related topic- anyone have plans to custom paint/mod their cases?i have used auto paint on some roland music synths with great results...shocked thatchina hasn't started making rubberized cases yet like they have for iphones etc.. ???

I took mine into the local Barnes & Noble and tried all of them on for size. Most were too small, but the Neoprene Sleeve for nook by LightWedge fits pretty good.The width is perfect. The heigth (length) would be perfect if it was about a quarter inch longer. I have to stretch it up over the corners of the device a little to zip it closed but it is sericeable.~~ Bardley

i play with fabric all day long (when i want) so i'm planning on making my own semi-sturdy case for my tablet.Mostly because i'm put off by the horrid white casing...why they chose white i don't know.Would be nice to steampunk my case and paint it as well...

I'm thinking about taking a spare laptop case I got, Neoprone style, and taking it to my local tailors and seeing if they're willing to do some magic to make it fit to the dimensions of the Eken! Worth a shot I guess and probably cheaper since no need to pay for delivery!

Looks GREAT. Just search the forum for "slimming" or "slimmer"... you'll see.

Just bought a "carrier" or "bag" for mine since I couldn't find a decent "book-style" cover for it...8 bucks or so plus shipping, came out to under 10 bucks from ebay seller Firegadgets
Will letcha know how it goes when it gets here.

just been to my local pound land... picked up a 15' neoprene case am gonna sow it up down 1 edge and side to side to make a neat lil pouch with a pocket on the back for the charger and usb cable.. will post pics once its done

After ordering my M001 from Amazon,(yeah, I know, I should have Ebayed it),but until today, I had never ordered anything from Ebay,it was thanks to what I've read here,I actually placed my first Ebay order today,used PayPal method of payment.My order was this case...http://2.gp/EC5The above is just a shortened link to the Ebay item I purchased,it is not spam, nor an endorsement of the seller,as this is the first time I've done business with them or anyone else on Ebay.I will post additional information regarding my order as it happens,with luck this might help someone else here.
