Cisco AnyConnect ICS System Configuration Error

Hi,

I'm trying to get the Cisco AnyConnect ICS client working on my U30GT. It connects to the defined gateway but then I get the following error.

"System configuration settings could not be applied. A VPN connection will not be established."

Oh this was also the case with either Stock 1.02 U30GT-H and Evo Prime ROM.

I was wondering if anyone had similar issues and if there is a resolution?

Would the Rooted AnyConnect Client work?

I've started to try the Rooted version but not quite sure tun.ko has installed correctly or compatible.

Don't know if this is any help but I found this :

Description: AnyConnect attempted to apply system configuration settings received from the secure gateway. The error occurred in the System Network Abstraction Kit (SNAK) layer, which could indicate an error with vendor-supplied plug-ins external to AnyConnect.

Recommended User Response : Restart the computer or device, then try starting a new VPN connection. If the problem persists, run DART (See Using DART to Gather Troubleshooting Information) and report the error to your organization's technical support and include the DART bundle.

Jezzer,

Thanks I saw that from some research I did prior. The odd thing is a friend with an Asus tf101 installed any connect ice and it just worked. He was stock Asus from etc.

I think it may need tun.ko installed to work. You could try this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aed.tun.installer on play store to see if it can find a suitable tun.ko for the Cube u30gt.

Well that is what the Tun Installer says.

The investigation continues.

There must be a file that it needs to write to but can't...maybe...

Interesting the tun.ko repository say that 4.0.4 U30GT-H 3.0.8 (Evolution Prime) is supported. My kernel version says 3.08+ Hmmmm may need to test a little further.

Downloaded Module is Incompatible. There must be a difference between 3.08 and 3.08+

Thought I'd provide an update.

I've tried to contact cube at 2 different email addresses however they have not responded to my questions about tun.ko support.

Ok thanks for this Andy. Not really surprising I suppose. Maybe it will be included in the Jelly Bean release.

Installed JB v1.04 on my U30GT today and sadly no support included. Sighhhh!!

Have also sent cube folks a few emails and unfortunately they have been silent.

It is such a pity, I really like the tablet and this one feature is somewhat annoying me.

I wish I knew more about kernels and could get my hands on Cubes source code.

But alas I do not, fingers crossed there is someone out there who'll take pity.

Update.

Running the latest ROM from Cube, well Prox32 from FMAs JB Prime based on H1.06, still no luck no integrated tuntap module and none available.

I guess I'll wait....

Andy, i bought a u30gt and this come with a faulty wifi conection. Indeed with 1.0.2 evolution prime rom the wifi works for 15 20 minutes. I think to use a program PdaNet Table new so basically use bluetooth with mi samsung mini to get internet over wifi. I install pdanet client on my cube and FoxFi program in the phone. I read from other user that works for him but in my case need the tun.ko for my cube. If you like pm or write here to find together a compatible file. Thnx in advance

Update. tun.ko 1.7 have the tun.ko in his database. i See yesterday. but i cant use it cause after install it i need wifi conection for the update. Maybe an owner with a cube u300gth could make a favor and install it, so share with us the file tun.ko What do u think? PM

Update.

Able to download and install a tun.ko file from openvpn. But when I try to use any connect rooted version the cube either hangs or reboots.

One step forward, I am going to remain positive that it will work soon.

I'll do some more digging.
