Thanks Sergey do you have any personal experience with this? Kind of worried that its only 1.2 amps. Anyone else have experience using a car charger with these things? The battery drains so quickly cuz it never goes to true sleep .

Yeah they are alright. I suggest you update the rom with the one here it is soo much better. You can import contacts and calendar much easier. I might order that car charger unless I get a better suggestion.

i know most are just looking for a simple charger like what you would find for a cell phone, but ive found the safest methods are using power inverters. you can find a 5watt power inverter for under 20$ usd or you can do what ive done and goto your local hardwate store and find a 1000-4000watt power inverter. i went with the 1000watt and wired up two 110v ac outlets in my suv. cost 80$usdnow all i gotta do is plug my ac adapter into the socket and i have a charge on the roadps i didnt do all this just for my eken, i just wanted ac outlets in my suv lol

A few months ago I bought a car just to get to work with and I don't use it for anything else. It only has a cassette player in it so I went to Wal-Mart and got this cassette adapter kit to play my MP3 player through my car cassette deck. It came with this little universal car charger that you connect to the mp3 player. It came with a large number of different tips and a voltage selector. I charge my mp3 player through USB and I already have a car charger for it so I put it on a shelf for a few months. I got my M001 today and so I dug it out and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it worked great! Had the perfect tip and everything. So yea, check Wal-Mart if you have one around, got it on sale for like $10.

I don't bother with "car chargers". I use a 150w DC to AC inverter, plugged into the car's lighter socket. This gives me 1 x AC power outlet that I can plug any appliance into provided it operates within the limits of the inverter (150w and max of 4amps 'burst'...and less continuous). I use this to charge phones, laptops, batteries generally / drive small stereos & TVs - whatever. Much more flexible. You just use the regular AC charger and plug it into this unit. I paid NZ$69 for it, so they must be about US$45? Saves buying 101 different 'car chargers'.

I understand the approach, but I'm buying another charger for the car instead of taking charger with me. I always would forget the charger somewhere else.Since this only be for the car, I don't want to take 12V Dc to 110VAC to 9V DC, just regulate 12V down to 9V.Anyway the Car charger works for me.
