can i useethernet cable on m001by having adapter from ehernet then 2 way female usb adpter then usb data transfer cable that comes with the m001 or can i not do it full stop. be great if i could iwouldget rid of my laptop thats boken at the hinges

Nope, for two reasons. One, the mini USB port on the side of the device is not a host port meaning that it cannot act as a host for any devices that you plug in there, only the other way around. Secondly, there would need to be support for an ethernet adapter to be added to the firmware in order for a cat5 cable to work.I am actually in a similar situation to you as I have no wireless connections at home. What I am doing is purchasing a wireless router from eBay, they are fairly cheap to be honest.The aPad is well supported, so I would go over to the aPad section and ask your question about ethernet there as I don't have the device myself.Hope this helps

thanks alot iv got wifi but i was going to use ethernet as is a bit faster. spoke to apad seller on ebay and he says stick with m001 because theres not much difference and the a pad is part of mid family.

But here (Disnyland area) I often see a/b/g wireless routers at swap meets/garage sales for 5-20 USD. Just bought one for my sister to go along with the GT78.
