Here is another one.The auto brightness doesn't appear to work. also, if you lower the brightness and put it to sleep, when you resume the brightness is back on full. when you enter the settings screen again, the brightness instantly goes back to the correct, dimmer setting you had before sleeping.

Here's some that I posted on the Pandigital review over at Techlicious (http://www.techlicious.com/blog/pandigital-novel-a-color-ebook-reader-that-run-android-apps/).- Booting with an SD card in the Novel means that the internal memory is unavailable. The same thing happens in OpenHome - is this maybe an Android thing?- When changing to landscape mode in the reader, books do not expand margins to fill the screen and margins appear to be unchangeable. Putting the device into snooze and then waking it up sizes the text correctly.

However, that release still isn't without it's own issuesInsomniac?- I had trouble getting the darn thing to sleep. After sliding the power button quickly the device would sleep for about 5 minutes and then wake the screen back up (but in a very dim state). Repeated this test about 3 times before I tried holding down the power slider for a longer time. Held the power button for a few seconds and *didn't* receive the shutdown prompt but after the screen went to sleep it appeared to remain asleep until I tried to wake it back up in the morning. It was on a solid white screen. I reset the device and was then able to get the normal shutdown behavior when holding the power button. (I'll try and repeat the sleep tonight this evening)[7/13/10] - Confirmed that the Novel will not remain in sleep. After a few minutes it will turn the screen back on in a very dim state and a tap on the screen will fully light it back upDelay prompts issues- The reader software (and even home) would occasionally seem non-responsive and popup a message indicating the the system wasn't responding. I always selected to Wait and things seemed to continue on fine. Still no reporting of IP Address, etc in System Info- The fields are there but blank even when connected to WIFI

Well, after a couple of days playing with this tablet, I can really only find 1 bug: after wake-up from sleep mode, the wi-fi is quite slow to reconnect, and I have found it necessary to manually go into Settings and turn it on several times. I am use to an ipod touch, and the wi-fi is very responsive, even after long periods of sleep or being turned off completely. This causes a problem for some apps that want to sync, and they think the wi-fi is unavailable. I am using the Kindle app in the PandaHome setup.

Does anybody have Adobe eBooks on their Application Quick Launch Bar? The manual that came loaded on my Novel says it should be there and that is how we should be able to read Adobe Digital Editions DRM protected content. However, my Application Quick Launch bar does not have Adobe eBooks on it. Sounds like a bug to me.After installing OpenHome, Adobe eBooks shows up in the installed applications and I can launch it from OpenHome. I transferred an online library book downloaded with from Overdrive with ADE and Adobe eBooks on the Novel handled the DRM just fine, so that is good news. The bad news is you have to hack the Novel with another launcher to run Adobe eBooks. A couple of emails to Pandigital have so far produced no response.

The only place I can access it is from the PDN Home screen. Its one of the applications on the last page when you scroll to the right. If I pull up the quick launch bar (while in the web browser for instance) it doesn't appear there. Kinda odd really since it seems to be the only application that doesn't appear.

After installing OpenHome, I turned off Auto Sync for email in the OpenHome settings menu and that fixed the problem. I couldn't find a way to change it in the standard PD home settings. I can still do a manual refresh when I want to check email, so not a big problem.

I didn't have the adobe reader on my second page either. However I just reloaded the firmware from pd's site because I dorked it up on my novel, and now it is there, on the second page.looks like pd fixed that bug!

Select the email app->hit Folders->Hit Account Settings->Turn off auto checking and notificationI reset afterward just to make sure the setting change took.Interesting bug.

I had a complete lockup on a stock PDN when I was fiddling around with the photo app. I ran a slideshow with the stock photo's and after the MP3 music finished playing (Yes, the slideshow can have music underscoring it!) the PDN froze on one of the pictures. Only a hard reset fixed the problem.

Mine still comes into semi-awake state after disabling the auto-sync and notification features of email. It no longer comes soooo fast to the semi-awake state, I am unsure how long it takes, but I left my PDN asleep for about 5 hours this morning, and when I returned, the battery had drained to 15% from 50% and was fully awakened by just rubbing the screen. This is a big battery drainer!

After doing the hacks and switching to Pandahome, all was well, and I've downloaded and used some apps successfully. But now, Panda Home has started refusing to allow the unit to sleep when I hit the power button quickly, and it no longer shows the home screen in landscape mode. I've switched off the automatic sync in the Email app as others have done, but no change. I've re-installed Pandahome 1.90 with no luck either. Has anyone gotten the pandahome2 that's supposed to be optimized for android2+? Or anynewer version of pandahome? Anyone seen and fixed this bug? Thanks, I'm enjoying this so far, just wish it had a brighter screen that would be readable outdoors.

When using Google via IMAP I was able to turn off the syncing and get the PDN to stay asleep. When using an Exchange account even when turning off Exchange's push and even polling for new mail I was unable to get it to sleep.I finally decided to just delete all my email accounts on the device....now it sleeps just fine. Here's hoping that the next version of the firmware corrects this problem.

But once it goes to sleep, it's a real PITA to reconnect. I'm going to test out another WAP to see if I get better results.

Possible bug? Battery reporting accuracy?I know this thing is a battery hog, especially with everything I have installed on it, but I don't know that I trust the accuracy of the battery level. I was using my Novel on and off for a few hours and the percentage was listed as 20% remaining, but within 10 seconds of plugging in the power, it reads 60%. Unplugged it 5 minutes later and went down to 40%. Plugged it back in immediately and went back to 60%.Anyone else having odd battery level issues?
