You are not really suggesting that slatedroid.com gets near the traffic as isohunt? I'm not trying to say it isn't illegal. I'm just saying getting everyones feathers ruffled up about piracy won't do or not do anything. I can't imagine MS lawyers are checking slatedroid daily for copyright infringements ( I'm sure they will notice it once google starts linking to this thread ). And like I said before there's nothing about this that would have the slatedroid owner being arrested by a swat team. No kiddos thiese are not the antipiracy busts of the 1996 anymore. They just send threatening letters now.
I never said anything about severe implications either, but far be it from me to underestimate the law and what effects it has on the general public. Some of those same people who never thought they would have any problems with the law downloaded MP3s and were charged and ended up owing hundreds of dollars per song.
Shut the f up about this microsoft copyright bullshit and someone tell me why mine isn't istalling correctly. It just loads the desktop with no touch abilities and if I restart it just said "Loading OS Image"
I'm sure it's frustrating but there's no need to be an ass. I got it working by using a keyboard and navigating to the stylus calibration and redoing it there.
I never said anything about severe implications either' date=' but far be it from me to underestimate the law and what effects it has on the general public. Slatedroid is not the size of isohunt. The people that were brought up on civil fines were downloading popular albums off of a popular public tracker. There's quite a bit of difference between the two.

After discussing with other members of the Slatedroid team , we have decided to pull the win ce software. We apologize for all those that did not get a chance to download it but we are sure some one will be hosting it on their server or make it a torrentthanksThe Slatedroid team

I apologize to everybody for bringing up the topic of the legality of the file, but I think it's obvious at this point it is for the good of the community. As for SlateDroid being the size of IsoHunt, it's far from it...but the way it's been going now, it is easily going to become a huge Android tablet forum, and it's better to practice such precautions now rather than getting bitten in the ass in the future.

Will slatedroid be removing the pirated apks aswell?edit: Just seems odd to get cold feet over a several year old os when you have fairly recently released Android games that are pirated hosted as well. I understand there may not be some unified front from the site but clean it or don't.

It's probably worth noting that there are plenty of other sites that have been hosting "illegal" CE downloads for a long time. MS hasn't bother beating them up, so why would anyone think they'd bother picking on this site? They are probably happy anyone even cares about CE these days.

have any of you bothered reading the CE user agreement? modifying ce or devices to run ce is explicitly prohibited. Android is open source, however.
