How I managed to break my tablet within 4 hours...Just got the tablet yesterday. It was running 1.7.2. I pressed on the empty space till the menu came up, then chose add widget, power control, 3 buttons popped up, picked the rightmost one. The screen turned black. I shut it down. Reboot. android logo came up, screen was good. then android booted, black screen again. Pressed the volume up/down button on top. it made a sound. so android was running, just the screen was down.Any idea how to fix? I'm thinking of flashing the newest firmwares as a last resort. But I'll need to save the account.db file for market store. How can I save files without the screen?

Well, you can access the contents of the tablet on your computer via USB, the computer will see it as a removable disc or storage device. I'm not sure where the accounts.db is located though.Wouldn't it be just as easy to use the latest 1.9_88 rooted ROM and push the market fix to it?

Not sure how to get to the other 1gb for the important files.the tablet does not come with a usb cable. so I'm using a dynex usb cable meant for ipod. fits in the long narrow slot.

There's got to be a way to fix the screen...
I guess you've tried booting it, hitting the menu button when you get the jingle to say the screen is locked, then tapping the blank screen in the hope of hitting the brightness button you cant see?
