Hmm, according to the "Cool Keyboard leather case peripheral" thread USB keyboards should work.
Are PC keyboards supported via the USB port?
I noticed that sometimes typing with the on screen keyboard is very tedious. Can I attach a PC keyboard instead? If so, how would I customize the keyboard layout (language)?

Yes, any USB keyboard will work.

I use this rubber fold up keyboard with all my tablets.
