I have tried to remove a couple of apps I installed with google experience but have been unble to do this under Manage Applications or with adb rm. I get a failure message due to "Read- Only file system". /system, /system/app, and the files are all 777 yet I cannot remove the apk. What am I doing incorrectly and better yet, how can I fix this?EDIT: solved: forgot to do an adb remount first

An easier way, would be to install an "Uninstaller app" Then it's just a matter of selecting the app you want deleted and your done
Tried that, would not remove the app. Only way was thru adb.
[quote name='scarpezio;30811]Tried that' date=' would not remove the app. Only way was thru adb.[/QUOTE'] Could you please post some instructions on how you did this? I'd love to know how to remove some of the extra launchers I installed to try but do not wish to use...--bornagainpenguin

You should be able to do this by going to settings/applications/manage applications. Tap on the program you wish to uninstall and then tap the uninstall button.Don't try to make things harder than they need to be. ;)

Despite having been playing with computers since 1994 I'm still learning stuff every day. I may have banged around in everything from DOS to Win16 to Win9x and NT and Linux and etc etc including emulated MacOS and so on but it doesn't mean I know everything yet*! ;)--bornagainpenguin* See? I'm working on it! Soon I will know everything! Bwahahahahaha!
Can I remove google voice and other Home apps without messing up the system? I would like to remove some of the google experience apps and some of the PDN original apps but I'm afraid of causing issues. Which apps have ya'll found that are safe to remove?

Is this only true if you use Nate the Great's hacking instructions? In the regular PDN "settings", I do not find an "applications" option...
I started working on a batch file for this. but its not done and I'm about to go to bed.
