trying to get info.almost bought the Apad Rockchip 2808, but saw posts of the Apad TC8902 with the Telechip. So quick, and obvious question I'm trying to find (for someone completely not in the loop) is....What's the Diff? Will the Telechip perform BETTER than the RockChip (so called Dual-Core with dedicated Video decoder)? Will Video be better? Will the Telechip and/or Android 2.1 make Wifi/Web better?Anyone?Thank you kindly

The Rockchip RK2808 version currently only support Android 1.5 whereas the Telechip version support Android 2.1. Android 2.1 will be better for web browsing as the browsing speed has improve. Here's a speed test Android 2.2 vs Android 2.1 vs Android 1.5. The Rockchip has a 600Mhz CPU with a 550Mhz DSP (Digital Signal Processor) which is dedicated for multimedia encoding, this is to overcome the limitation of the CPU itself.Overall the Telechip will of course outperform the Rockchip RK2808 and technically the Telechip will be able to support Android 2.2 very well. For casual web browsing and e-reading, the Rockchip version so called Apad will be ok and it cost lesser. However, if you wish to install more intensive apps or games the Telechip version such as the Opad A1 or SmartQ V7 will be a better choice.

The chips are not dual core they, have a dsp which handles certain tasks from the cpu.The tcc8902 are supposed to be faster and have android 2.1.Check apad.cn for news about these.Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
