Hi all, just found an article and want to share with you : Shanzhaiben blogA possible Apad upgrade with a new chip, Telechips8902My english isn't the best, then if anyone can explain more ?Thanks
omg, it will be a nightmare to distinguish between sellers that sell the 'old' rockchip version and the new telechip...i thought the telechip version would be 10" instead of 7...
It is true that this will become very difficult for buyers to know what they are buying ... I think I play with my APAD Metallic, and wait a good 10" with android 2.1!
It will be easy to distinguish (or, at worst as difficult as it currently is to distinguish between VIA and Rockchip) - this runs Android 2.1 and is Telechips. Any company selling these will make a big deal of both these facts.
Yes and no, beacause some dishonest companies that want to rip off people will say it is a Telechips model and when the customer receive his package is a Rockchip model or VIA as is the case for some people here now .. So 1 chance on 3 to have the good model now...
I think this is just a hand-made sample they got for review.. Google translation may be missing that.. It's a news blog after all. TCC890x will explode onto the market soon, and then we'll have a lot of competing/similar models. Not to mention, the Telechips SDK including kernel source is out there, so we could have a real gem to play with here !
well here's an english review of the telechips tablet:http://www.shanzai.com/index.php/ba...x-7-inch-tablet-does-android-21-for-130-bucksso it looks like it does exist, and too bad stinking rockchip won't release their source code so that we can get 2.1... (I bought the apad with the "promise" that 2.1 would be available in July. now all I can hope for is for rogerbraun to pull through with at least 1.6)
