I'm saying CM because it's easier to build off of because of the way it is maintained, but not because of what features there are.You can start by cloning the Cyanogenmod source tree. Then build for sholes and see where you get: Building from source - CyanogenMod WikiKoush is the maintainer for the Motorola Droid: koush (koush) on TwitterAs for kernel: CyanogenMod's kernel-omap at android-omap-2.6.32 - GitHubI think you will be missing drivers though.I don't think you have a highly modified AOSP on your hands in the first place. It uses ALSA for sound, as I see some stuff in your ROM:
Code:
# ALSA support chmod 0777 /dev/snd/controlC0 chmod 0777 /dev/snd/pcmC0D0p chmod 0777 /dev/snd/pcmC0D0c chmod 0777 /dev/snd/timer
This Froyo 'build' is essentially a OMAP devboard build.
