I also posted this in the general android forum, not sure which is a better place for it. I have an HP TC1000 tablet, just got it. Was hoping to put android on it as my permanent OS instead of windows XP. It has a 1Ghz Transmeta Crusoe processor and 256 MB of RAM. Has anybody tried putting android on this? I tried running android x86 off a live CD and the colors were all wrong, the screen input didn't work, etc. I figured since this was one of the first tablets that someone would have tried this already, but I can't find any information on this. Thanks,Jon
I'm thinking it is going to be impossible because of the crappy CPU they put in them. Also, because it isn't a true touch screen I don't think drivers would be available for it.
That sounds like a really good idea, but the TC1000 is extremely underpowered. I would have to try it to see how it runs, but it is a 1ghz cpu with 256 mb of memory. Not exactly a prime candidate for vmware.
have you tried the Android LIVE ISO? I dont know whats IN the TC1000 but it might be worth a shot.I'll bet if you go to pendrivelinux.com you can figure out how to get it on a USB stick if you dont have a CDRj
I tried running it off the livecd, the colors were terrible everything was red tinted. Also the pen input didn't work.
