I ordered online from kmart after having trouble getting one from the local stores. I got a email yesterday morning saying my order was shipped and a tracking number. Now ups is saying billing information received and no updates at all. I was just wondering if anyone else ordered online and actually received there GT. I also ran across this which makes me think the order may get cancelled. K-Mart No Longer Stocking Augen Gentouch Tablet?

Apparently it's time to suck it up and just order an A81-E then......also how convenient for them, that doing so would invalidate all of the rainchecks as an added bonus...merimobilesjtshopaliexpress witstech & wirelession storesmp4nation(not shipping until 8/23 though)etc.There's an entire thread, interestingly enough, entitled "WHERE TO BUY"(can't miss it, it's on the first page and probably still near the top) in the incredibly assininely renamed witstech A81 forum(they call it midnite something or other now for the 5 people who end up buying from mp4nation)...

You can't order online it's a glitch and Kmart has pulled the plug. This A81-E does anyone here have it? Or just get the SmartSurfer (aka Gentouch 78) cost in USD $320 that model has HDMI port, 1080p HD, GPS, 2x USB 2.0, WebCam max 32GB for microSDHC.

A friend of mine ordered on-line from KMart last Tuesday and received it Friday. He wanted to return it, but I said I'll buy it off of him. It'll make a good second development device to accompany my GT.

Well on a whim this morning I called the kmart from which I got the raincheck and the kid answering @ the electronics "section" said that they had one and sold it. I told him that I had a raincheck from 7/29 and he said: oh! well what's the UPC/sku which I gave to him and he turned up 5 in their storeroom, so I asked him to hold one for me.So not expecting to go there today, which fortunately I did, I turned up late in the afternoon and there was small korean woman working the jewelry/electronics kiosk who was checking out some other employee(I think) with a crapload of grocery items(WTF!), so after standing around for c. 10m waiting for her to check out the groceries(involved finding LOTS of plastic bags which are terribly inconvenient at that location(WTF!), I finally get attention. Through broken engrish we go over and see a kid at the customer service desk who takes over and checks to see if the unit that the other call-kid said that he brought to the kiosk is still there... nope... so the new kid runs off to the storeroom, and after another 10m pops back up with a box(YAY!) and checks me out. (I asked him how many were left, and he said that after selling me mine, one! Good f'ing thing that I didn;t wait until monday!)So I now actually own a piece of genuine android tablet hw.I just played a youtube video with the youtube app(just rooted(I think), and clockwork mod(I hope -- need to find a user's guide) so far), and the video(the early jrnh7 or whatever his name's was augen video... so much better played on the augen) played back better than my nb w/a a core 2 2.4GHz + 4850 mobility ffs! (thanks ATI/AMD for sh!tty drivers!) under linux! Also used it to read a bit of a TEXT(i.e. ASCII) book w/iReader.. seemed OK after dark... (WiFi's been pretty good too being picked up in the area that I wanted, which I'd hazard from PDN reports wouldn't work well at all... still getting the hang of the browser though as sometimes it seems to work well, and others... well...)Anyways, expecting to attempt to sort things tomorrow and decide what to do... keep it, or return it and order an A81-E... (so far I've been working with it under Ubuntu 10.04 + latest android SDK)... keyboard's been working better for me than ANY of the videos I've watched and I've still not installed the calibration update... case is a little cheesier than it looked in the videos to me at first... doesn't seem to fit quite as well as the videos seemed to show, but hey a "freebie"!Other interesting comments:The kmart was a "big" kmart, and there were about 10 cars in the lot. I think that employees outnumbered visible customers by about 2:1 at least... sad... it was like a ghost town... then again if they're that lackadaisical about calling raincheck holders when they receive stock they deserve to die out, unfortunately they'd suck Sears down with them... (haven't been in one of those in ages either... might be dire today... rather than slightly offputting... then again Hudson's got bought out by a sh!t company, and Hudsons when a REALLY good department store chain... until they got raped...)(gets REALLY warm when charging AND running! Scarey warm for something no ventilation to speak of...)
