Twice today I had this occur so thought I would pass along what I sawLet me start by saying I had a heck of a time getting ADB to recognize the device . . after some help from IRC we figured out that I didnt have USB Debugging turned on - Which would only give me 3 Drive letters and no device to show up in Device manager - Once I enabled USB Debugging that problem went away for the most part.Ok on to Market Observations - The first time I did the Market Fix a couple apps that I had setup via AppBrain installed just fine and then WHAM all kinds of apps started downloading and most if not all of them Failed the Install.Ok didnt know what to make of this and then the Market failed again about 15 minutes later - Grrr so I decided to try the Market Fix again before generating an ID ( I had issues getting the ID generated )2nd time was a success as well got a few apps installed and then WHAM tons of stuff starts downloading and failing ....So my thought is that the Dev's or whom ever at Augen had alot of apps set to install and once the Market Place starts working all those apps get installed and then Market says Hey your not who you think you are so Im turning your access off ( or something like that )Again just general musing of someone who spent way to much time today dinkering with this tablet - And the wife still is drumming her fingers waiting for me to get "it working" .

I have not had your exact problem but it may be related.I installed the same androidID on two different slates. I now sometimes see messages on Slate A that the app I installed on Slate B failed to install. We've seen on the site what seemed to be random apps trying to install. Maybe we were seeing an 'echo' of whatever the last slate owner tried.I'm trying some testing having both slates in the market at the same time and seeing if I reproduce this.

OK this is weird. With market open on both slates Installs started on the 2nd slate to open the market say starting Install but never start (THAT seems familiar)Installs started on 1st slate to market starts successful installs on BOTH slates.Rebooted 2nd slate did not open marketInstalled app on 1st slate.Started market on 2nd App successfully installs on 2nd slate w/o asking for it.Need to make a google account for my sister and make a new androidId for the GT78

You guys need to make sure you generate a different androidId for each tablet. Also, only use the numbers in the ID, NOTHING ELSE. If you include the || or anything else, it will simply behave the way you have said, trying to download apps constantly and failing. If you set your androidId properly, after you reboot there will be nothing in the downloads section of the market app. You should have no problems from then on. Good luck.-hj

Hi, so I did the Market hack and I have a working market. Unfortunately, a lot of stuff seems to be filtered out (like protected apps). I didn't even know there was such filters, so after getting the market to work I thought that was it.I noticed this when trying to install things via AppBrain and then getting the message "The requested item could not be found." Looking around at other threads it seems like the build.props file is the key, but I don't know what a valid 2.1 firmware device is out there, to be used in the build.props file.Any thoughts out there?

I have tried the one from my droid when I was running 2.1. Didn't help me on the Novel but maybe it will work for you.ro.build.fingerprint=verizon/voles/sholes/sholes:2.1-update1/ESE81/29593:user/release-keysChange that line to the above and see what happens.

After further investigation, this now seems even weirder. I can see copy-protected apps based on the "copy protected app tester" ( TopMarketTest - Copy Protected - Android app on AppBrain) . Just some random apps don't seem to show up in the market place, including ES File Explorer and Quick Settings (Quick Settings - Android app on AppBrain). Any other help.

Lol. It's a common trick to get things working on the hacked phones. That line is straight from my Moto Droid which is where the hack came from (well, from a Droid not mine specifically).
It spread like wild flowers once people realized it worked.I think with our devices though something else is missing I'm just not sure what.
