The Ampe A10 10.1" HD-IPS Tablet is the very first QuadCore China MID Tablet in the town. Built with a 1.2GHz QuadCore ARM Cortex A9 processor called Freescale i.MX6 which is suppose to outperform any DualCore Cortex A9 processor out-there, and a QuadCore Vivante GC2000 graphics which is also comparable to a QuadCore Mali400 graphics (maybe a little-bit less) performance that some Cortex A9 chipsets also offers like Rockchip RK3066 or Samsung Exynos 4412 processors. However, I am not quite sure about Heavy 3D Games compatibility on this graphics processor. It might support less games than the popular Mali400, PowerVR, QualComm, and Tegra graphics. A good build.prop fingerprints might fix some compatibility but I'll take that with a grain of salt.

Aside on having QuadCore CPU/GPU, Ampe A10 does also give users a peace of mind for resource hog applications by putting a 1GB RAM and 16GB of Storage with a chance to expand to max. 32GB or even 64GB of microSD card using microSD slot. A built-in Bluetooth is also included together with 802.11 B/G/N Wi-Fi. A huge 8000mAh battery which is estimated to power the Tablet upto 8-hours of usage (That's perfect, we just hope this Freescale i.MX6 QuadCore processor is a power efficient). It runs on Android OS 4.0.4 IceCreamSandwich which is common to mostly offered Tablets as of now but I do really hope it could have a stable JellyBean 4.1 OS too.

The Ampe A10 QuadCore 10.1" HD-IPS Tablet is already available at an Online Store based in Shenzhen China for such cheap US$219.99 including a world-wide free shipping.

The screen uses a beautiful IPS panel and an astonishing 1280x800px HD resolution which gives this Tablet not just an amazing 180º view capability in all angles without loosing any image quality but also a vivid, rich-colors experience of HD Pictures and Movies. It is also perfect for e-Books, Magazine readers as it has very good "Pixel Per Inch" which will makes text clear and very readable. The screen is then protected by a scratch resist Glass screen.

We can also notice the small black dot on the top-middle of the screen bezel which is the 0.3MP front facing Camera. Meh! Let's just hope its clear and usable on Video Calling like Skype and Gtalk.

The whole back-side of the Tablet is covered with an Aluminum-Shell material. It doesn't comes with a unique design, just plain and simple. The middle-top portion is where the 2.0MP rear facing camera and the Stereo loudspeaker are located. The Camera doesn't have any LED flash and don't expect perfect quality pictures/videos here. Itcan be useful capturing a not so important event.

We do not know yet how good or bad the quality of sound the Stereo loudspeaker will produce but the position of the speaker is already telling us that we cannot lay-down this Tablet on the top of desk or table while watching videos or listening musics.

We have at-least a complete availability of Tablet Interface ports which are located on the right-side of the Tablet. It has the following: 1x micro-USB with OTG function so you can connect and use your USB drives or a supported external USB-3G dongles, 1x mini-HDMI port which is very useful to extend your display into a larger screen or TV while watching your favorite HD movies at home, 1x micro-SD slot which could support upto 32GB or even 64GB of micro-SDCard, 1x 3.5mm Audio port for Earpohnes or Headphones, 1x 2.5mm Wall-Charger port, and a two tiny hole which would probably for microphone and reset switch.

On the top-corner side of the Tablets we have a main Power Button and Volume Rockers (or maybe a Home and Menu Buttons). If its Home/Menu buttons, then expect soft-touch Volume buttons on the ICS Status Bar. We can also notice the thickness of this Tablet which is approximately 11mm thick, 0.5mm to 1mm thicker than other brands with same size. Anyway, it still does look like sleek Tablet because of the smooth rounded-edge sides and corners. Hopefully, build quality is also as good like these pictures are.

The Tablet weighs 657grams, much lighter than Cube U20GT's 680grams. But heavier than PiPO M2's 608grams.

We still don't have actual data yet on how Ampe A10 QuadCore 10.1" HD-IPS Tablet will perform, but base on some early benchmarks of the Freescale i.MX6 processor with Vivante GC2000 graphics, I am expecting this Tablet to outperform all cheap DualCore Cortex A9 chipsets like RockChip RK3066, AMLogic-8726 M6 that most of cheap China brands are using as of now. Though it may not be as powerful as Nvidia Tegra 3 or Samsung Exynos 4412 QuadCore but this thing will surely gain some respect and good position on Tablet market.

I will update this blog whenever I found a performance comparison of this Tablet against other DualCore/QuadCore 9.7" or 10.1" cheap China MID Tablets or expensive known brands like Samsung and Apple.
Thanks for reading...

As I have experience with Allwinner Sanei N10 will post difference.
Promises, promises

Here are my first impressions.

Installed HiAPad 2012-10-24 firmware (4.0.4), thinking that it is rooted, but it is not. Now I am to lazy to install the same Ampe 1.58b firmware.

Some glitches:
did not find Airplane mode
clock is speeding, looking for solution
SD card was not recognized in normal work, but suddenly started to work without any problem. Funny was that upgrade that I performed was from SD card.

1. screen, the same very good quality as on old sanei n10
2. quality i better that sanei n10 (I had one with plastic back), but it is little bit heavier
3. oh boy, it is fast, I do not have issues with waiting on app (you know "App stop responding" message)
4. battery, yes this tabled needs more juice, wifi spent all battery power during night, so I installed Juice Defender ultimate to improve it, and it is already working. During normal use, 4 to 5 hours to drain. I am not a gamer.

I did not have time for now to calibrate battery, but satisfied with current notifications.

My suggestion, recommended, but you will decide to buy this new for 200 US or refurbished iPad 2 on ###########.

Hi,
I have a sanei N10 Quad Core and have had it a few weeks. Today after using the USB charging cable I purchased (as they had sent the american plug not UK as requested).
I was using it the tablet whilst charging fine. Just now when I went to see how the charge was progressing. I pressed the power button and nothing. Blank screen wouldn't switch back on.

Any ideas as to what is going on with it???

Thanks
Finally got my Ampe A10 QuadCore Rooted, was simple with the - Root with Restore by Bin4ry just run it rebooted twice and away you go. No we need some custom ROMS
As of Monday or Tuesday I will have taken possession of one of these Ampe A10 Quad Core tablets. The dealer sold it to me as being rooted and with the very latest os iteration. I really am looking forward to getting this. Within the next few days after this I will have three tablets in front of me. The Ampe, my Upgraded Zenithink C91, and a Zenithink C94 that I will be doing the setup on for a friend as soon as it gets here. I don't doubt that there will be substantial improvement over my zt-282 (C91) by both i.MX6 tablets, but will do a complete comparative review on all of these and post them here.

I know that there are substantial visual and feature differences between all of these.

From what I can tell this device doesn't charge with USB, due to it needing 3amps current to charge, must use mains charger.
USB is typically only 0.5Amps, but can got upto 2.1Amps within the USB specification

Airplane mode -
Try swiping left from the homepage there's a widget with 3 icons on it (wifi, sync, brightness) touch the wifi one and this stops the wifi, sync stops all synchronisation. This should be the equivalent of enabling Airplane mode.
This was present on 1.39 SAnei factory version and 1.61 Ampe branded version firmware

Update, - try enabling USB debugging in the developer settings, I managed to get some charge in my daughters tablet via USB cable.
Not fully tested so I've not been able to confirm it again.

The tablet detect the hdmi cable when I plug the cable into the tablet but the tv doesn't project anything. It just goes blank. I can assure you that my lcd tv and hdmi cable is okay. Does anyone facing the same problem? Thanks.
Hey guys, a question, I recently purchased a 16GB tablet a10 Ampe, everything works fine, but I noticed that restarts at times, and I think that is when I activate the wifi, I have not seen either, but know that should that restart, it does at times every few hours is not constant.
@ all,

my Sanei N10 i.MX6Q has at Factory the Firmware 1.62b and it worke fine !

I have rooted it wiht " Tasselhof - Root, Market, Build.Prop, & Tweaks Script - AllWinner A10 " , verry easy to do !

Greetings Michael / Mikel

@ sbrat,

i think, the Batterie is emty, so he dosen´t can switch the USB debugging ( no starting Tablet - no switch ! ) !

I think, without debugging he can only use a charger to load the emty Batterie now !

My charger has crashed at the second time ! Verry angry !

The charger is a 5V 3A charger, but i load my Batterie from the Sanei with the charger from the Yuandao N101 Tablet of my daughter with 5V 2 A !
I think, the Time to charge is longer, but it´s work !

Now I have ordered one new charger with 4A !
