A pad owners need input

So I have a Motorola droid and I am a huge fan of Android. My question is, What is your take on your Apad's. Do you think I will be happy with the over all experience, what performance differences does the Custom rom have and how long does the battery typically last. Also, correct me if I am wrong but it sounds like root access is there out of the box and if using ADB shell SU app isnt even needed? So is installing the custom rom a matter of pushing it like an update?

I'm happy with mine too, but mine has some power issues

Not until you upgrade to my 1.3 first, after which you have a recovery you can actually use. Or grab the recovery.img and get that flashed individually somehow. rogerbraun is probably going to include the new recovery in his next ROM as well. For now Windows only.
