There are so many applications available - I thought it'd be fun to explore the applications we can't live without. I know I'd like to find new useful tools and toys that I haven't even thought about needing.Handycalc : An outstanding graphing calculator. As an engineer, I use a calculator so frequently, I wear them out. A graphing calculator can cost as much as the pad itself. It may not be as full-featured as a Casio or TI yet, but seems to be updated _very_ frequently. It's free, and I'd pay for it. It is so standout for me, that it's actually worth the price of the P7 itself.Pandora, of course. Both the stand alone application (love the cover art!) and the widget.Accuweather's Simple Weather Application: Outstanding! Love the g-sensor rotate-to-radar. The widget lives on my "overview" desktop.AndFTP: Really good FTP application. Registered version does SCP and SFTP too.BestTube doesn't seem to work anymore with #167, but on #354 it was a great YouTube app.Kindle for Android. Duh. And no, I can't read it in direct light next to the pool. Get over it. ;)eWallet Viewer - I have the full version for desktop and my smartphone. Being able to read the secure/encrypted password database on the big screen is nice.FBReader - not bad, but I mostly read KindleQuick Task Killer - it's my favorite of a "required" app. Love configuring the settings to just tap-to-kill.Adobe Reader - gets the job doneColorNote - ubiquitous yellow sticky notes for the android desktop. What else could you want?Dictionary.com - nice fast word lookupFrodo C64. Love it. Nothing like a flashback. :)Ultrachron is a good count-up/count-down timer/lap stopwatch.Terminal Emulator - helpful for hacking on the pad and debugging. Like being logged in with a busybox shell (adb), only directly on the pad.I also like the Nixie clock widget, but I'm a geek[ette]So - what apps can you not live without? I haven't found a contact program I'm really in love with. I'd like to have a much better email client. And a solid SSH solution. The VNC clients are pretty weak, at least the ones I've tried.Oh and honorable-mention: "Battery Monitor" has some nice features. A little inaccurate with time remaining prediction in my experience though...

Quick Task Killer can also single tap kill everything - but that's not generally my goal.I'll check out Think Free and Rockplayer, thanks!

I can recommend the Act1VideoPlayer (tryout the free version but it only plays 2 minutes before pausing) It is the only video player I could find with a built in volume control. Other players required you to leave the player to adjust the volume. Aldiko is fine for DRM free books in epub format. My grand kids use DoodleDroid for sketching.
