Hi there, I got this Cherry Mobile Fusion bolt which is an rebranded Ainol Novo 7 Venus Lite - pre-rooted from factory.

Whenever I start it up, only 2 cores are online and the other 2 says "Offline" - Is this normal for Android?

If not, then how to enable the last 2 cores so all cores are "Online"?

Also is there a way to control which apps start with the tablet? It seems the youtube app(which I never use) allways start with the tablet, so does Titanium backup and a few others - and it drain available RAM.

Which Apps should start with the tablet and which can I live without?

with kind regards

How do you check whether the cores are offline or online? Some apps give wrong readings.
You could use a terminal and see what the kernel says.
Run this command: "cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu*/online"
This will print the contents of the virtual files /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/online, /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/online and so on. "1" means online and "0" offline.

There are several apps that let you control autostart settings. Requires root, as far as I know.
ES Task Manager has an autostart manager, for example.

Hi Tzul, thanx for the tip but I only got an error saying "Not found"

Then i tried combinations of the command:

cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu*/online
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/online
"cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu*/online"
"cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/online"

Then with su

cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu*/online
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/online
"cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu*/online"
"cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/online"

All resulted in "not found" error.

Then i went to cpu folder using ES Filemanager, and the online file said 1 on Cpu 0,1,2,3

so I guess they are all online.

It was Cpu Tweaker that said 0 and 1 were online and 2 and 3 were offline. If I use Cpu identifier from Play then it says all online.

I have tried to tweak the cpu speed from 252Mhz to 864Mhz on startup, by using Trickster MOD and Pimp my ROM, And they work, but can you tell me if that is a good idea?

I'm guessing this will drain my battery faster.

Is it a good idea to install Pure PerformanceX?

Taking in mind that this is still with the Cherry Mobile Stock ROM.

With kind regards

Hmm, the terminal command should have worked. Maybe the paths are different on your tablet. Anyway, you figured it out with the file manager.

I can't help you with the other stuff. I don't have an ATM7029 based tablet.

Just remember that the pmu puts half the cores to offline when not needed and if the cpu-load rises over certain threshold it wakes them up. I think when you´re using performance mode it should´t to this.

Hi Krisse, well I am using Performance - only problem I had was that every time I rebooted I had to chage it back to Performance. NowI'm using Trickster MOD to to make sure its always on Performance when rebooting. I kept the min on 252 and the max on 1200 Mhz, because i couldn't get an answer to if it would be a problem to keep it on 864 Mhz.

But it seems the all the core are activated on startup.

Thanx for your answer though:)

Hi. The cherry bolt is a 7025 CPU. I also have the 7025 CPU, although it's not a cherry bolt. I have excellent results using the kernel tuner app (free) and putting the CPUs at the min.(252) and the Max. It's normal for them to fluctuate. This is how android manages itself to be proficient. They are responding to the workload. Waking up when needed, and dropping down when not needed.

Hi Laura, cpu identifier says my CPU is 7029 and running 1200Mhz But capable of 1308 but not in this device. Your 7025 is running up to 1008Mhz right?

Hi insomniac, you are correct.

First- what ROM are you using.

Second - you can un install any app you don't use in settings, except system apps of course.. If you're not sure if it's ok force close it and then disable it. Then you can enable it later if you change your mind or find out you need it.

Settings > apps > swipe left or right and find the app. . click on the app

Hi Laura, I'm using the Cherry Mobile Stock rom for Fusion Bolt - I am thinking about trying the Ainol, since Cherry mobile has made some strange changes to this ROM.
