This thread is going to be just simply for repacks of the stock rom, what this means is that until I push out custom roms, these roms would be good to use with minor modifications.
So far CWM isn't that high of a priority. The inclusion of the generic CWM in other repacks are useless for flashing roms at the moment. I've already found other means to easily flash custom roms.
Simple. There recently have been a rise in reports about apps possibly misusing root access. For example, some users download "free apps" from dodgy places which might take advantage of root access to do nasty stuff. Hence this is why I disabled root by default to give people the option of enabling root if they wish too. Saying that, most of us are sensible users and use root access for stuff like titanium backup, setcpu etc. Those are safe apps.

As for me, I've been using this for a few days and I have yet to experience the touchscreen hang.
Hi, I tried your root enabler.
First I updated the tablet to your ROM.
I restarted the tablet and enabled debugging.
Then I reconnected the tablet and started your batch file. Unfortunately I always receive an error message , device not found.
When I start the rk batch tool I get a pink sign - means its connected.
What am I missing?
My laptop runs win 8.
Thanks for your help.

one thing I just encountered when trying to root using rootenabler. My device is not detected as i9500 (or something that is nexus's model number). However, android drivers are not installed. Can help on where I can download this drivers?
Hi, it didn't work.
When I connect the tablet and install the driver for the unknown entry in device manager I receive the message that the device can't be activated - so adb finds no device. Uninstslling drivers shows nexus 7 afterwards when connecting. Driver install again doesn't help.
Any idea?
Thanks
Lausbub
Did you manually select drivers or did you allow windows to do it automatically? Because you're actually supposed to manually direct them to the drivers that I have posted.
hi there , well thats my first post and i'd like to note that chuwi has uploaded a new update to their website for our v88 bluetooth edition , its an upgrade to 4.2.2
enjoy !
(btw im posting it here hoping for a timeless edition of the rom
Update: I'm having some issues with my Rom Making tools, seems like my modifications result in the "Obtaining IP address" loop.
This is tough work. I have flashed my V88 over 50 times and still no end in sight. I would appreciate it if you guys would
I'll post the repack first before my true custom rom comes out.
UPDATES: I will not be releasing a repack nor a custom rom based on the 4.2.2 firmware released on 3-06-13. It's simply too buggy, the only real improvement is that everything seems smoother but at an unacceptable costs of bugs. One example being broken battery usage data
Hey is there anyway to change the build prop to maybe a Samsung Galaxy note or s3 with the Mali 400? It seems a few of the Gameloft games that have been optimized for the nexus 7 Tegra 3 don't seem to like the Rockchip and Mali in the Chuwi.. asphalt 7 in particular has a lot of odd freezing.
Hi Lambstone, I just updated to your ROM and it was a pretty painless process kudos to your clear instructions. Interestingly I'm having WiFi disconnect issues now when previously under the 26 April version WiFi was OK. Do you have any ideas or fix?
My guess is this is an issue with the RK3188 chipset. I have another RK3188 tablet and encountered the same issues. That being said, it could be your wireless router. When I rebooted the router, it works fine for a while.
What the above app does is that it disconnects wifi upon sleep and reconnects upon wake. Re-initializing wifi this way seems to be a non-intrusive way of managing the wifi issue.
Hi! I haven't been able to root the device after flashing the repack. While device connected and driver installed, adb says no device found. Any suggestions? I using windows 7 on the PC I'm connecting tablet with.
Sorry, could you clarify what you mean by "repacking" your v88?
Thanks,
smithmal
